Okay, let's get down to business-- the infamous bit of new or rumor/speculation. The reporter tells us:
" Cebulski added that if he has his way, more Capcom artists will be dipping their toes in the Marvel pool soon."
Okay, let me put this in proper context. Cebulski is an editor at Marvel who has close ties with Asian/Japanese talent. I think he was the guy responsible for having Kia Asimyia doing a couple of issues of Uncanny X-Men. If someone is going to get Akiman or some other Capcom artist on a X-Men book, it's going to be him.
Damn!
And he's hyped about doing this. I don't want to get my hopes high but I wish him the best of luck!
Larocca's artwork is damn good. Liefield needs to get a proper education.
Oh-- I've reread the quote. I think the reporter made a mistake-- Marvel hasn't had any Capcom artists work for them yet. Or have they? I know that quite a few manga writers/artists have done a project or two for Marvel. But none were Capcom artists AFAIK. Anyone want to clarify.
Also, someone on the Newsarama message board said that a Capcom artist by the name of "Wong" had illustrated a Batman graphic novel that was going to be released this week. Does anyone have any information to verify or disprove this?

I believe the Wong referred to is actually Tony Wong of Chinese comics fame. He did a Batman graphic novel that is being released by DC.
Where anyone got a Capcom connection I have no idea. Also I gotta hope that any attempts to tie anymore manga or game artists to a X-Men book is defeated. The X-Men books are tired and often get critically ripped. When the books take a dip, blame is too easily tossed around. From what I understand the Asamiya issues didn't tear it up like thought. Japanese artists need to be put on books for them that spotlight them and their strengths.
Don't believe me? Read up on the whole Namor first issues fiasco.

I think what he means by "more Capcom artists will be dipping their toes in the Marvel pool soon" is that they're going to do another Marvel vs game. He's saying that they'll be dipping into the pull of Marvel characters to add in a new game. Although the idea of having Edayan (the artist of Rival Schools) doing a Marvel comic would be a dream come true... it's highly unlikely.
... and yes... Kia Asamiya's run on X-men was less than spectacular, but I think partly because of the bad writing... I mean Juggernaut a good guy... Psylocke is dead... and some freaky mutant hunting werewolves.

I get the impression that Cebulski is talking about artists with a "Capcom Style" or influence. After all, Joe Madureira, Ed McGuiness and UDON have worked on characters of the X line at some point and all of them mention or have the "Capcom look"
EDIT: ComicsContinuum took the quote this way:
"Editor C.B. Cebulski said some of Capcom's artists will be working in the X-Men Universe."

I've been out of the main comics series for a while now, only recently buying issues of Wolverine: Snikt (by the Blame artist) and Ghost in the Shell 2: Man Machine Interface. I guess I just haven't been interested, and the costs of individual issues is a bit annoying.
What's so appealing about the HK Batman comic by Wong and the other one (which I thik was done by Kia Asamiya (sp?) is that they're in hardcover/TPB form. I prefer collections over individual issues. I'd rather get more story at once rather than a single issue that I can cover in 5-15 minutes.
Still, if Capcom artists work at Marvel, I guess it could be a good thing... as long as it doesn't look like CvS or CvS2 artwork. The MvC2 art was bearable, but the Capcom-side CvS art is a bit...disappointing.
But I wonder: Shinkiro has been doing work for Capcom. I wonder what Shinkiro Marvel art would look like.
