Sakura Taisen 5 is coming out first in Japan, then Sakura Taisen 5 Action will come out some time shortly after it (a few months, I'm guessing). However, according to the plan for the North American release that was announced last July, a plan that I'm REALLY hoping has changed, Sakura Taisen 5 Action will be released first in North America, and then, if it sells well, Sakura Taisen 5 will be released in North America.
The problems inherent in a "you can't have dessert until you eat all your vegetables" release strategy are apparently obvious only to people that don't work for Sega. This may be caused by the legendary Sega "Cone of Stupidity", an add-on for the Sega Genesis that was never publically released (but is widely used within the company) and can only be hooked to the system through the 32X cartridge slot. There are, however, rumors that it may also be compatible with the Nomad.

How can I be so sure of this? As much as I want to see a Sakura Taisen V come here, I bet that one, Sega will pull back and not release the game here at all and two, even if they do, it's most likely that the game won't get proper treatment. Adding on, you have to remember issues like the seiyuu if you plan on releasing the game here. That's why Konami has never brought a single Tokimemo game to North America.
