I personally find Adult Swim's non-anime offerings superior to TNNs CFFA's. I was just curious if anyone here watches TNNs cartoons regularly or anything. I don't regularly watch them, but have tried watching a few. I guess I just prefer the Adult Swim stuff. Sealab 2021 is great. I'm also a huge fan of Home Movies.

come on... CN has family guy, sealab, aqua teen hunger force, space ghost, harvey birdman: attourney at law, the OBLONGS (will ferrell is the funniest man alive), and so much more. TNN can't compete.

the only station that even comes close to adult swim's lineup is comedy central: clerks, the critic, dilbert, and duckman is a pretty good lineup.

I watch Gary the Rat and Stripperella regularly. They're okay, better then the awful Ren and Stimpy episodes, but you're right to assume CN's non-anime line-up is better.

(PSSSST, depending on who you ask that might actually count as a reason to HATE CN's line-up... I mean sure the Baby and Dog are funny and very likable, but when a commerical has a long fight between the family were they viciously beat each other as attempted humor I can't see why we're supposed to like them)

That commerical was hilarious! I liked it when the sister and the brother were scrapping.

I still need to watch Gary the Rat. Argh. Missed it. >_<

Egh, if you saw the episode where the New Yorkers came down and Lois learns Karate it would make my post 10X funnier.

Yeah, Adult Swim non-anime just rocks! I love home movies and Harvey Birdman. Haven't had a chance to watch the other stuff. But I would buy both series if they were put on DVD for sure!

Haven't watched any cartoons on TNN but stripperella and the rat toon don't seem that appealing.

But... Family Guy ended...
The Critic still continues? I didn't know, good news.

I don't think Comedy Central is showing new episodes of The Critic. Seems to be the same old episodes to me.

Family Guy is great... really a shame that Fox decided not to keep it going. I hope Family Guy makes a comeback someday... whether it be new TV episodes or a movie.

The saddest part of Adult Swim is that is Kevin Smith had gone with UPN instead of ABC (who never wanted to air the show; just make sure other networks didn't) they'd probably be showing new episodes of Clerks now or at the very least more than the 6 produced for ABC.

yeah, but nobody likes UPN. seth mcfarlane had the chance to keep family guy running on UPN, but turned them down as well.

Why the hate for UPN? I know they are not a 'real' network but still...

Too bad Dilbert also didn't survive long at UPN. That show wasn't on the level of Family Guy but it was still a pretty decent show.

If Kevin Smith has went with UPN we'd only have the 13 episodes promised in their original deal, UPN canceled Home Movies and Dilbert pretty quick so I don't think Clerks would really get that far with them either. (and remember at that time no one knew there would be three cable networks showing 'adult' cartoons so it's not like Smith really could consider "hmmm, if I got to UPN and their network goes under in a year like Eisner says it will the remaining episodes can be aired on Cartoon Network!" he took a chance and has to live with it)

However, all is not lost for animated Clerks. There are of course the cool action figures (as seen in my tag! Mallrats wave ships next month) Kim Possible and the upcoming Danny Phantom both carry on Clerks visual styling....

and after 'Jersey Girl' is released 'Clerks:the Animated MOVIE' will go into production! It's being done in Flash animation so that leads to two possiblities for a show rebirth:
1-Web-isodes
2-MTV has expressed an interest in airing new episodes once the movie takes off (it's likely Viacom bought the originals to show on Comedy Central just to prove they were serious)

Adult Swim kills CFFA. They've got Family Guy and Futurama (those are the only shows I watch on it, but I know they've got other good ones too), and I really don't care for Stripperella at all. Gary the Rat just came off as lame too me, and I outgrew Ren and Stimpy a long time ago.

Still waiting for a Dan Hibiki and Robert Garcia dream match!

Please don't play with my emotions like this. This is like how Atlus played with us over Persona IS and are currently doing with SMT3.

Thank you though, you've rekindled hope since I tought they had given up on the movie.

Why all the hate for Ren and stimpy? That is classic stuff. Stripperella and Gary the rat are pretty lame tho.

I dont understand if its supposedly a network for men why they play wussy crap like blind date. They should televise glass-eating contests o something.

Sealab is hella funny. So is Bidman Space Ghost, Dilbet and duckman.

Because the old episodes are giant piles of crap and we're old enough to see that now, and the new ones manage to be even worse.

Most cartoon shows that were on UPN (Gary & Mike, Home Movies, Baby Blues [I think]) were picked up by other channels and got a second chance.

Personally I think that even if UPN had canceled Clerks after the 12 episodes there would have been a chance that there would have been more made for CN.

Dr. Baghead has given me hope for more Animated Clerks though so I'm happy.

I didn't know that either. Are any new Home Movies episodes being made? I must admit, when Adult Swim started, I didn't like Home Movies but after really watching it I love it. I'd buy figures of the cast.

Home movies has vastly improved on it's CN run. I can see why UPN cancelled it, but on CN it's quite funny.

Cool, thanks for the info, Baghead! BTW, do you know the answer to my other question? Are they making any new ones or is Home Movies finished with new episodes? (I'd like to buy them on DVD.)
