Did the American version of Jojo for PS2 got cancelled? I have a friend who is a crazy fan of the series and he wants to know.

We checked IGN but they only have stuff related to the japanese version.

I just checked Capcom site, I remember them having a little section for it before now its gone, this seems very strange. I was looking forward to it then I just forgot about it.

The US version was quietly cancelled. I remember reading an E3 report that mentioned it. So import if you must have, but it doesn't sound worth it to me.

Damn it...one thing after another for like the last year and half, Capcom has made some very stupid choices...canceling the US release of Jojo is one of the many...

[sigh]

Since an boot CD or a fully external mod for the PS2 seems to be far off(probably another year or two)I may have to get a Japanese PS2...damn it...if not for Jojo then for the Naruto game coming out.

Actually it's a wise one. I don't think that sales of it will be enough to justify the localization, production, distribution and promotion for it.

You'd need a jap ps2 to play an original japanese game...but you can purchase the game, make a dvd backup (would even fit in a CD) wich is not illegal and just using any of the swapping methods for making it run on your console...having the original is not piracy...
Purchasing a jap ps2 for playing an import :P? wow, you guys must have lots of money.

I'm a Jojo fanatic and the game was only kinda worth it. I wrote a review on it at Gamefaqs if anyone cares.

But...yeah, I agree that it wasn't worth it for Capcom to bring it over. I don't think it would sell well at all. Not because it's a bad game, just because...well, it doesn't have too much sales appeal.

Ah...but playing import PS2 games is easssyyy...even if there isn't a full external modchip, there are plenty that don't require soldering. Anyone can plug stuff in...

Whoa, solder-free mods for PS2? I've been out of it for too long... Know of any sites with more info? I've been needing to mod my PS2 for some time, and I've been waiting for an easier solution to show up, and I guess eventually I just stopped paying attention. One wire GC mods, no solder PS2 mods... I need to get to work, heheh.

Not because it's a bad game

Oh yes it's a bad game, it's freaking bad game.
Not a bandai-suck bad game, a bad game where you feel that the guys spend 2 years to find ideas that could be good, then another year to find the best possible way to make them suck.
This game is a concept. It's a work of art. It's an exploration of how far mankind can go in suckyness.

I was wondering about the game myself. Well, the high point of the series to me was the Third Chapter (Though I love Lisa Lisa from the second Chapter. She was the inspiration for SFZ's Rose!)so at least I have that game for Dreamcast.

Not exactly. As a student you're doing extremely well, rest assured. I was actually wondering if there might not be a Freudian explanation to this sudden profusion of the occurrences of "suck" in your tirade. My first conclusion was that you might have had some "suckdom"-related frustration lately, which again can be wrong. Not that I expect any answer...(a few details will do!)

I counted three times. Eh, I've seen people use "suck" more often than that in the same amount of words, usually with many other sexually explicit verbosity, too!

Am I the only one here who think the Jojo game for Ps2 was good?

I know It's not the game of the year but...is one of the most original ports from a manga Ive seen in this world full of Konami and Bandai poor adaptations.

@_@

A zillion possible answers crossed my mind in less time than X-Or needs to put his armor on. Some were quite direct (amongst the line of "this is not the place for this kind of talk"), some even more direct and gross (especially one involving you coming to Paris and a certain part of my anatomy meeting a certain part of yours), and some even more direct than the last one (staring classical answers like "Who are you? What are you doing in my room! Get out or I call the police!" followed by miscanelous action with men in white and tight shirts and strange stuff on the walls). Then there was the scandalised ones (asking why it was the second time someone assumed here I had a sexual starving problem, the other time beeing Abe no Seimei a few days ago), the normal ones (I'm not sure about theses ones, but it definitely involved ostriches), the more poetical ones (especially one with zebras and a japanese girl), and some I really don't understand myself (something with a man eater communist snake that wanted to prevent me from eating a huge cake I just made for myself).
I'm not sure whether I should choose, so I will get the overall polite answer:

Thanks.
