I ordered one, not because I read game magazines really anymore as they are not informative enough, but because it means less time spent on the net downloading pictures of new games ^_^

Finally, at a price that's worth paying!

Seriously though, I really have lost faith in Gamepro as of the past few years. But I think I'll take up this offer. Can't beat the price!

My favorite thing about GamePro is how it'a stuck in the 80's

They still have the same crappy layout, same awful in house cover art, same retarded grading scale of faces, same stupid pen names ("Scary Larry" or "Miss Spell" or some bullshit like that that, that for some reason someone decided we needed action figures of)

Free is a fine price for the modern day propaganda rags that are the Imagine Media magazines (to use the most dated reference possible in a nod to the new show 'Whoopi' PSM is an independant from Sony as the US is to elect a deserving President) but GamePro should pay us $24 dollars a year to read their slop (or save time and pay $48 for two years!) saving $36 off the newsstand price of what they should give the bookstores to burn their garbage.

I read the latest Gamepro issue a few days ago, the one with DBZ on the cover.

There was not one SHRED of information that I couldn't have found on the web in that magazine. Everything in that entire issue was old news. Their ratings DO suck ... also.

None of the gaming rags can get "exclusive" information that isn't already on the net anymore. What makes a worthwhile rag is good commentary, intelligent reviews/previews, and great layouts (see Play as exhibit A).

Gamepro, however, has been a piece of shite for 10+ years now. For anyone over the age of 12, it's insulting to read.

There are definitely bits of info that are seen in magazines first and then reported on the net from other sources. Anyone, including someone writing from a magazine, could get a hold of a piece of info that hasn't been reported.

But that said, if you're current on your internet gaming news then coming across something you didn't already know can be a rare occurence.

Fennec rocks.. I'll probably just stick to video-fenky though.... I'm worried that gamespy will stick me on a bunch of mailing lists.

I signed up because I like Fenegi a lot but now I'm worried I'll get a magazine with Vegita and Goku wrestling on the cover and my mailman with think I'm an idiot.

GamePro isn't 100% bad DONTSTONEME!NOOOOO! but it is aimed at general public not hardcore gamers. I don't always look at internet news due to my 56k modem. On occasion they DO get exclusives--like the current insert about the SF comic. BTW, I don't buy it (often) myself...normally read it in the store after a "bad" customer has opened one or when I worked at Blockbuster I got them free.

francis mao still does the art for gamepro? holy crap, I had the gamepro street fighter 2 snes / street fighter 2 CE arcade strat guide, and the art was ugly then too.

I only subscribed because I filled in the "name" portion of the form as "trogdor the burninator" and I've always wanted to receive mail under that name.
