Not much to say, but I just saw that in this mounth (otherwise completely uninteresting) Arcadia, the Long Running Game section was about Savior ; they admit it should have been included in the Tôgeki tournament, and promise it will be in the next one.
I won't translate the article, but if you're still interested in the game, it's definitely a must read, at least because articles about this game are so rare...
It's mostly about gard funô (sorry, I'm not used to the english fighting game vocabulary), new fighting styles for Bulleta and Zabel, sukashi, and a few hints to use Victor, LeiLei and Lilith more efficiently.

Good to see Savior getting some recognition, plus the news that it's going to be included in an upcoming tournament is particularly interesting. I'm looking forward to hearing the results of the competition.

Actually, the article begins with a report of a small tournament with the 32 best players of the kansai (the Tôgeki was last mounth, so I guess the next Tôgeki will be in may-june 2004). The winner was a powerfull Buletta grabler, followed by Jedah and Q Bee. The tournament was all about advanced guard and guard cancel. The interesting point is that the players didn't choose a character because of his strength but because they liked him, so the match were very different (they don't say much about it, but there were at least 14 different characters used, and since it's arcade Savior 1, there are no Donovan, Phobos and Pyron. I think the only character they don't mention was Demitri, but it's maybe just because no Demitri won enough matches. Or most probably because Demitri sucks and no one likes him.)
About Buletta, the article on her is about an effective way to use her infinite (running+low punch) in a real fight, and is really interesting. For the rest... Well, buy the magazine!

...? Please elaborate.
She has an infinite? wTF? Are there more characters with infinites?

A couple. Hers is probably the most do-able in a real match setting (though the timing takes some getting used to). I have an old tape (about 10 mins. long) of nothing but insane Japanese Savior combos/tactics/infinites. I might have to fish it out and watch it... it's been a while.

Zabel/Raptor definitely has one (the setup for it is damned near impossible, IIRC).

It's far beyond my level (if I score 3 hits in training, it would be my all time record) but the article says a few things about it (because doing low punch all day with such a high risk of missing won't lead you anywhere) like mixing it with non running low punch or middle punch.
I remember there was some infinites, I even managed to do one with Phobos (with the Genocide Vulcan), quite hard to use in a real fight, but very satisfying.

I'm impressed that somebody was able to effectively use Bulleta's guard cancel. I never found much use for it but I've never played Ms. Hood as much as I probably should.

They played the character because they liked them? Considering some tournament players will play an entire game they don't like just for the sake of competition that is a switch.

But it's so much easier to grill you for info.
