See above. Which games would you like to see remade, and how? Personally, I'd love to see a compilation/remix of Fatal Furys 1 and Special for the GBA, with updated graphics and sound, and the ability to use every character from both games. Also, I'd like to see Match of the Millenium remade, of course, with upgraded graphics, and Athena and Kyo in their current costumes.
Somebody either here or at insert credit talked about maybe remaking the original Street Fighter, which I think would be a good idea. Throw in Street Fighter II versions of Cammy, Chun-Li, Bison and Guile, and you'd have a pretty sweet game.

Right on! It's sad how Capcom can crank out sequel after sequel (or in some cases remakes) for a handful of their titles yet completely neglect others. I would gladly trade half the Megaman and Resident Evil games out there for another Bionic Commando.
One of my favorites. I have only played the first. A remake of it would be nice. How many other Bionic Commando games are there?
Well, I know there a GBC remake/remix of the original by Nintendo, but I don't know of any others.

Well, LoZ has sorta kinda been remade already with OoS, so I could do without (besides, any real remake would probably make it more linear and/or easy, taking away from the game's mystique). Zelda II, on the other hand NEEDS a remake, preferably with a "classic" option that allow you to play it top down, like with every other 2-d Zelda game.

There's the arcade version, the really crappy PC version (based on the arcade version if I recall), the NES version we all know and love, the original Game Boy version (which seemed to be a different game, though very good), and the GBC game, which is fun but suffers from some of the worst art direction ever. Gah.
It'd be interesting to see the concept in 3D, though.
I want a remake of Castlevania III. And a new Actraiser in the vein of the original, not the sequel. And a new Umihara Kawase! And a sequel to Pepsiman, dammit! Since he's been in new commercials in Japan, anyway, hehe. What else...
Oh! MetalStorm! More than anything in the world, I think I'd like to see a sequel or a remake to this game. It's so damn good. I loved the concept, and the gameplay was great to match.

I've actually heard something of a PS2 remake. Dunno if it's true or not..

and lastly... a Contra FPS would be pretty damn cool.
Now, this shocked the hell out of me. Because I would have never, ever thought of it, let alone did I ever think such a thing could possibly be a cool idea... but I'm imagining the world, weapons, and enemies of Contra 3 in full 3D, as a multiplayer FPS, and... well, hell, that could be incredible. I say Contra 3 because as much as I enjoyed Shattered Soldier, I hated the visual style. The whole game seemed kind of... dull. Too many bland colors.
But I doubt we have to worry about a Contra FPS, anyway. And if they did do it, it probably would be executed wrong anyway... dammit!

Thought of some more games. SNK just HAS to make a GBA sequel/remake to Ikari Warriors, with Ralf, Clark with their "proper" names (Ralf and Clark, in case you were wondering), Leona, Whip, and the man, the legend, Heidern. Also, an Athena/Psycho Soldiers compilation/remix would be nice.
You know, SNK could make a tidy profit by taking all of their old games, lend their licenses to responsible third parties (read: Nintendo, Sega, NOT THQ, Acclaim, or any company in that vein) and have them work on the remakes for a share of the profits, on the condition that they recognize SNK (much like they did for the Crystalis GBC remake). If it works well, they'd: 1) get some extra cash 2) solidly re-establish SNK, 3) get to cheaply promote KoF via the game characters. It's a pity that they'll probably never get enough money to do this.

I can remember, when I was a lot younger and FF3/6 just came out here, riding the chocobos on the overworld and thinking about how cool it would be to have Joust from that perspective. Of course, there are a lot better ways to do it now than SNES mode 7 effects, but still, I think a 3D behind-the-rider Joust could be really cool.
But then again, 3D remakes of old arcade classics don't seem to work out too well. Have any of them yielded any big hits? As far as I can tell, no one actually cared about Frogger, Centipede, Defender, or any of those. But then again, I also heard the newer Pong for PS was a fun game, so.. I have no idea, heh.

You may be surprised to hear it, but Frogger on the PSX actually sold very well. It's success is probably what encouraged the trend of digging up old titles.
The first remake of BattleZone was quiet good, and both managed to keep the feel of the original game and add plenty of new stuff. It's a shame that the sequel was so bug-ridden though. Yeah, other than that I can't think of any other remakes that really stood out.

That game was hard. Those enemies were EVERYWHERE!
The remake of Battlezone was a GREAT game too! Interesting story, concept, and gameplay, all rolled into one.
Playing off of Mosquiton's comment:
You know, if they made River City Ransom into some kind of Real Time MMORPG I would love it. They could add a little more to the fighting system, or have different 'styles' of gang fighting, like one gang member could use a more eastern, another a more western fighting style. Clans could have their own tags. It could be like a West Side Story thing. There are two rival gangs, and in each gang there are little subgangs (clans), or just lone gang members on their own kickin it. You could rob stores for money, which would also give you experience. Also, you could attack law enforcement, but if you killed too many police they would hunt you. Of course paying off the police officer would get them off your back.
Guns and stuff would probably suck, so I'd make the game focus more on hand to hand fighting and maybe limited hand to hand weapons. You could even be a merchant and buy and sell 'drugs' to make money.
I wonder what other 'classes' there could be =)
Dude, a nice, anime style 2D/3D MMORPG set in a ghetto city with gang wars. That would be a sick game.
I'm kind of torn. I know I want a 2D playing field (like the original), but should I have cell shaded 3D models or 2D sprites. I'm leaning towards the models, because it is MUCH easier to customize a 3D model than a sprite, and easier to create different martial arts too. That's one thing about Ragnanrok too, is that all the people look the same, except if they buy a hat for 10,000 z.

quote: Another one that comes to mind is Saturday Night Slammasters. Slammasters 2 was a horrible mistake by trying to make it into a fighting game... but the original Slammasters ate tons of my quarters back in the day and was an snes favorite. Add in more grapplers from other capcom fighters like Zangief, R.Mika, Hugo, Sadam, Alex, Boman, Tiffany, Sasquatch, Victor... etc... and you'd have a fun game 4 player game on the level of Powerstone 2.
I agree with this, but I think you're asking for more of a sequel than a remake. Eh, but I'd still want to see it done. Slammasters was a great game. Though I think Gan or Kyoko would be more appropriate than Tiffany.
