Yeah, it was. I think because of the whole Square Enix thing, people were expecting a Square brand title, and seemed to totally ignore Kenshin DQ.
I, however, am excited about the idea of swinging as sword around in front of my TV and leading the neighbors to think I'm insane, as I once did with Soul Calibur and the Dreamcast fishing rod. Fun memories.

Well, I'm sure it's taking shape one way or another. I'm just excited because the people behind this installment are different from all the more recent ones. I'm looking forward to some new stuff from Final Fantasy.
Aren't some of the people from FFTactics and Vagrant Story working on FF12?

That guy always does work on final fantasy games. at least he doubles concept art with Amano.
I really love the style. If it follows the style of the concept art. Spira is a pretty unique and interesting world. I mean. All the Final Fantasy Worlds are.
Ever since Final Fantasy six its kinda like they take you somewhere new and different and not done before. as far as architecture and the like go.
Except for 9. but that game was awful.
But 7 had its gothic thing, 8 had the gardens. I've never seen anything like those. and 10 was this crazy aquatic world.
I guess the, "we build worlds" or whatever slogan works out for that.

The worlds are nice. Spira was interesting. However, the characters are getting stale, and the gameplay needs some serious 'mixing up'. I just want something different.
Maybe I shouldn't expect that from Final Fantasy.

and the battle systems were never fun. FF10 was getting them there. but I never enjoyed them.
Its funny, I dug Final Fantasy 1 when I was six, but now its just a random battle generator! ugh.
