Mint looks kinda short, indeed, but still cute. The little girl is Suzu Fujibayashi, just an NPC on the SNES version, and a playable character in the awesome PSX remake and in the upcoming GBA one. She's also the main character in one of the audio dramas, Tales of Ninjyaria, I think.
