Finally found a copy of this (to rent). Three blockbusters in my town, one just sucks, one has the box but no DVD (-_-;) and the third actually had it!
I thought it was rpetty good. I still enjoyed Hard Boiled a whole lot more. I guess I just prefer Chow as a good guy and not a bad guy... well, a semi badguy. The action was top notch though.
The scene where he snipes the dude with the Dragonov was probably my favorite part. Seeing the empty casings fly out and a new round getting chambered was so awesome.
SPOILERS ON THE ENDING!!!!!!!!!!!!
THE ENDING SUCKED!!! I can't beleive that happened to Chow's character in the end. That was just a terrible ending :( I was expecting Chow's character to die, but have his eyes blown out?! What's Jenny going to do now?! And the cop goes to jail?! I'm going to watch it with commentery some other time, and will be mad if Woo doesn't have a good answer.
SPOILERS TIME OVER!!!!
So overall, I thought it was enjoyable.

Actually, he originally intended for the movie to have a happier, and more complete ending, but they simply ran out of money and couldn't film it. (I think he talks about it on the commentary track)

Everyone that I recommend Hard Boiled to, I ask if they have seen the Killer. If they haven't I always recommend seeing the Killer first, cause ~~Hard Boiled~~ raises the bar so high, it diminishes the Killer. The Killer is a great film with some great emotion & action, but nothing can keep up with the Hard Boiled. Hard Boiled rocks, but don't let that color your judgement as to how good the Killer is.
