The Peter Chung episode has a really cool story about rehabiliting robots to fight on the side of the humans. I was let down a little though because it's not the same studio that did Reign so the art quality takes a little dip... it's about on the level of Aeon Flux.

Actually you wish you could RENT it.

It's very cool, I liked Final Flight of Osiris, Kid's Story, & Beyond. But I wasn't enough to want to own the DVD after watching it. I do think everyone should see it though.

Picked it up from Best Buy last night for a mere $15... OST-less, but oh well.

I just watched up to Fast Runner so far and I'm really impressed on the whole. Kid's Story is too slick for words and the Final Renaissance I and II are really well-done. The animation in each of the shows has been incredibly smooth. Some really amazing design and presentation to be seen...

And Program was incredibly slick. I can't say I'm disappointed so far, thankfully... Reloaded took care of that.

Can't wait to see Detective Story...

Oh yah. The packaging is so lame. A patch? Hah. And who releases high production value DVDs in those cheesy cardboard cases anymore? Annoying. With sloppy collaged cover art, no less.

It was okay. I am far beyond getting my kicks from just plain gross-out violence, but thankfully not all of them were like that. The overall look was definitely rough, dark, and gritty all at once. Quite a bit of rotoscoping going on there, too.

My favorites were definitely Detective Story and Kid's Story. Both had good atmospheres and really diversional stories. Least favorites was Osiris... all that buildup and it turned out to be nothing but flash. Of course, I'm not a big fan of the Matrix - hell, I'm not even a small one - so if there was some connection to the movie with that then I probably missed it.

One more thing, it's nice how they included Japanese voices... there's a lot of recognizable seiyuu in there. Neo's brief voice was way cooler than dorky Keanu. :P

I too hate the Warner Brother DVD cases, but if they won't change there's a solution!

first scan the cover, spine, and back of the WB case and print it out on high quality paper at the same size as a regulation DVD slip. (alternatively if you're the creative type, you could make your own 'improved' cover)

next:
Get an empty "good" DVD case (maybe one an AOL sampler came in, you should have roughly 70 in the mail at any one time) or order some here:
http://www.sleevetown.com/dvd-case.shtml

(the Amaray Safe-Case is the sandard most companies use)

insert your newly created DVD slip into the empty sleeve on your fresh case... insert DVD and BAM! A Warner Brother's movie in a DVD that doesn't suck! (you could also scan and print the chapter selection your WB case has on the inside cover to make yourself a handy insert for your DVD)

(although I myself haven't done this yet, it's hight on my To Do List once more Batman:tAS and X-Men Evolution DVD's come out.)

I've never bought a cheap-cardboard cased DVD. I bought a small number of CDs like that but I've wised up.

It's a fun disc.... the best one was "Beyond" in my opinion. A few I didn't really care for though.
