Gleaned from Gamespot USA, Nintendo has announced it will stop production of the Famicom, Super Famicom, and it's Famicom disk service in Japan...

Truly an end of an era...(And the perfect time for a cool, double mocca frothy logo for Nintendo!)

Why were they still producing the famicon/SNES? Who buys brand new famicon/SNES systems!? I know that they are cool and all but still... Such a tiny market...

Well, its Japan so you never know.

All I know is they stopped production of the NES in the US sometime in....'95 I believe? And the SNES soon followed in '98 if I remember right.
