shaman king and sonic x are coming to american tv this fall on the fox's saturday morning lineup - foxbox. I haven't seen sonic x, but shaman king is currently one of my favorites and I hope its not riddled with poor dubbing and bad bad bad translations / editing like other 4kids titles *COUGH*yu-gi-oh*COUGH*

Yah Shaman King is a really cool show, although I think a lot of the Japanese sense of spirits will be lost in the dumbed down translation. I don't see it being a big hit with American kids though, the whole idea of playing with dead people just isn't marketable. I can see Sonic X doing pretty good. Only 2 of the 6 current episodes are subbed... but it's definitely a show aimed at kids. Although most kids never had a dreamcast so they'll have no idea who the characters are. You think Fox would learn their lesson with Escaflowne.

I particularly like how the guns are edited out of Yugioh so the thugs always are pointing at stuff threateningly.

And showing episodes in random order didn't hurt Escaflowne/Card Captor Sakura AT ALL.

Funny thing, Shaman King is on its second season on Fox Kids in latin america. I always tought that it was already aired on the US... it's a GREAT series, but I don't see it having a big success in the US...

I'm a huge fan of the Shaman King manga (I'm so glad I have Shonen Jump) but I too think that most kids will not be interested. I must say that I'm more into Naruto and One Piece and look forward to them eventually making it to the US in anime format. I even think both of them would do well in the US, but I sure wouldn't want them on FoxKids. I'd like to see them on Toonami or Adult Swim. Of course, since I've seen none of the anime for any of these three and only read the manga, I don't know if I'd like the anime as much, though I probably would, especially One Piece. Anyway, here's hoping Shaman King does better than I expect and that it gets a good translation and good editing.

What channel is this Fox Box on?

Or

Is it talking the saturday line-up that is showing Jakie Chan adventures and Megaman, or Yu-Gi-Oh?

The line-up that shows on WB.

Awesome! Another pleasing bit of news. This excites me a lot. FoxBox only has one show I like, the new TMNT series, which I like,BTW.

Sonic X looks so awesome. Sonic will always be one of my favorite platformers(alongside Sly Cooper and Ratchet and Clank) and he looks even cooler in the anime.

the FOXBOX

the foxbox is fox television's saturday morning lineup, and this fall it looks freaking awesome. kids WB has yu-gi-oh, pokemon, jackie chan and... they should bring back x-men evolution to even stand against foxbox's new awesome lineup.

The One Piece anime hurts me. A lot. Because I love the manga, and the anime... just kind of irritates me. I haven't seen a lot of it, but I don't really like what I saw that much. I guess I imagined it a lot differently...

Naruto, on the other hand, did nothing but meet my expectations and exceed them. I like the show a whole lot, and can't wait to see more. The manga's awesome, too.

Yeah the Naruto anime is very faithful to the manga, it pretty much follows what happens in the manga word for word and panel by panel. I haven't read much of the One Piece manga, but after 150 episodes it's still going strong in Japan... I've seen the first 48 so far and I really like the show. I could see both One Piece and Naruto doing well on American TV.

I'm going to consider Sonic X a bad dub unless Urkel returns as the voice of Sonic

and I really hope Shamen King turns out good, since it's a very read and I like the art... but it just seems like it could easily turn into a Digimon style pun-fest and that worries me.

and Shaman King is on before Turtles I believe! So I might have something to watch at 9:30 now

And I think I'd cry. After the two original US Sonic cartoons, one good and one bad, and the horrifying, nauseating Sonic Underground, I don't want to hear Jaleel White anywhere near Sonic. I know he has nothing to do with the production team's complete lack of taste, but it just brings back bad memories.

And if, for some reason, the translation staff wants to bring back Sonic's inexplicable love for chili dogs from the American Archie comics... I won't be a happy camper.

Urkel Sonic sucked, quite frankly. Him and the shows he appeared on. Consequently, I really don't care if Sonic X tanks or not.

Seriously, what the hell was up with that series? "Because what Sonic needs is lots of annoying sidekicks in a serious cartoon set in a post apocolyptic future. YEAH!"

I also have the horrible feeling it was the inspiration for many a pornographic fan art.

WHAT? Don't you remember all the chili dog powerups, chili dog mini games, chili dog themed levels and the secret chili dog boss?? What could be better to run into the ground than a food item that has so much to do with the game?!?

Honestly though, this show out during the time of TMNT and The Super Mario Bros Super Show. TMNT had their pizza and Mario was Italian and therefoer had to eat as much pasta per episode as possible. I guess they felt Sonic needed a food item to be constantly seeking too and since mealworms and crickets weren't as relatable to kids and Wimpy from Popeye already had hamburgers cornered, chili dogs were all they had left.

In the end, it may have been for the best.

I wonder how it'll turn out. Sonic X, that is.

AND LEAVE CHILI DOGS OUT OF IT, PLEASE.

That will be all.

BTW, I think the video game VAs will be reprising their roles in the dub as well. That means Ryan Drummond, Corey Bringas, Deem Bristow and so on. I think most of them did a pretty gooc job. I just hope they get rid of the woman who did Rouge's voice in SA2. She sounded awful.

That show was great!!!! I liked how when they powered up Sonic and his brother and sister all had muscial instraments! and how Sonic was the only character from the games present! and how all 3 Hedgehogs were voiced by White, one in his normal Sonic voice, one in a "sonic trying to sound like a girl" voice, and one in a "sonic with a cold" voice"! and of course I'm super happy they covered the ever critical "search for his mother", man, without that plotline the games as we know it would be worthless!

Well, WB does have Mega Man:NT now, which is good so far. Also X-men: Evolution is supposed to come back on WB and wrap up the 3rd season which is still unfinished. They want to do more seasons of Evolution too, and I hope they just do them on Cartoon Network where they are showing all the old ones.

I hope they succeed in getting to make new seaons, the show was just getting good were it ended.

But something tells me it's dead in the water... the toy line has been cancelled and since fellow WB animation Justice League is likely ending after just 2 seasons. I think once Season 3 wraps up the shows gone.
