We all love the nostalgic gamemusic.
So here's a thread for all the real core gamers that know their stuff and my way of saying thanks for this wonderfull forum that we're all on.
There has been so many awesome music coming from games and there are so many forgotten.
The cool thing is,when you let somebody listen to a track they know, they go like:" Oh my god,i remember this,i love that game."

So as a tribute to all the awesome gamemusic soundtracks we love,i'll upload 1 track/compilation from a game onto my site and post the link to it here at the forum.
It will stay on-line for a couple of days and then i'll remove it and upload another from another game.
I'll update the thread headline so you'll know when the new track is here.

Today's tribute goes to The Double Dragon series.The first game in the arcade was a instant hit because of it's originality and hard gameplay.It was an exsample for later games like Final Fight,Streets of rage and many side scroling beat em ups.I've made a compilation of the wonderfull Double Dragon 2 for NES 8 bit and Super nes 16 bit soundtracks.Two of the best arcade to console conversions of the Double dragon series.Please enjoy this back to back 8 bit & 16 bit masterpiece.

Thank you. I've wanted to purchase the sound track to this, but it's rather rare nowadays. I prefer Super Contra to Contra 3, however; music-wise, as well, especially when it comes to the arcade version. ;D
There was a Super Contra/Ajax sound track compilation CD released ages ago; you wouldn't happen to have it, would you?

Yes i have.God i´m blessed.
It´s one of the best of the konami best collection & perfect sellection CD´s.
There is another CD(can´t remember the name of the one)that also had 2 more Super contra tracks along with an awesome Xexex remix and the colony stage fron level 2 from Axelay.

In a couple of days i´ll removethe contra3 and post a new compilation from another Game.
Doing a Konami greatest hits copmilation is very tempting as they are the best of the best from the gamemusic soundtracks(Konami and the Falcom JDK band track rule so very)

Interesting. I have a large collection of unusual game music, if you're ever interested in trading or something. By the way, I am VERY VERY VERY interested in Mp3s from that Super Contra/Ajax compilation (especially the tracks "No Escape" and "Deathbed")... heh heh...

If not, you can mail them to bugrom1067@aol.com. Again, I have quite a few sound tracks myself, and I might be recording the music to a couple of arcade games sooner or later. The supernes vesion of the super castlevania soundtrack is indeed awesome.
I do have it.I think you'll love the pc engine version of Dracula X soundtrack even more.shivers don the spine when you hear that one.Same goes for the perfect sellection versions of Konami.I'll wait another day until more people get the change to download the Contra3 track and then i'll refresh the post with another tribute....A castlevania one seems like a very good choice.

Edit: Apparently there's an arranged version of Death Bed/Hotter than Hell at the end of the Ajax disk, too; colour me VERY interested in that, too. ;D Do you have any interest in the Winds of Thunder/Gate of Thunder sound tracks?

1. Super Contra III? What the heck is this? When was it released?

2. For either Seiryu or Rugalbernstein: do either of you have the soundtracks for TMNT II: THe Arcade game, TMNT IV: Turtles in Time (SNES version, or Sunset Riders (arcade version)?

3. For Rugalbernstein: A while back you asked me if I wanted to have any music from any of the games you have downloaded. I replied that I'd like to hear the Sonic arcade soundtrack, and any selections from SS: Samurai Tamashii. But then you never replied again. What's up with that?

Edit: Okay, now I've got it downloaded, but the computers' giving me a bunch of options to downoad it with. I have no idea what's going on, but I chose to save it to zip. Now I can't find where it went. Can anybody help me out with this?

Iron D-itude fact 1: Iron D has never played a Goemon game.

Iron D-itude fact 2: Iron D has only seen three episodes of the new TMNT cartoon. He wishes he could see more.

You're "crossing games". Contra 3 is... well, Contra 3 (for Super Famicom/SNES) and Super Contra is Super Contra (Arcade, Famicom,NES). Two different games.

I don't, but I might be able to whip out the Sunset Riders ST. Need to check and see if the Test Mode has a proper sound test.

I don't know. All this computer talk is confusing me. I'm admitting right here and right now that I'm not very keen on my computer language, so I'm very confused right now. I think I'm meaning to say ripped, but I'm not sure what the difference is.

I clicked Seiryu's link for the Conta III music. It starting downloading. When it finished, it gave me the option to use some type of file to save it with. I chose zip, or something like that and now I can't find it anywhere on the computer. I know that doesn't make it much clearer, but that's the best description I can give.

As for SS: ST, how about the boat stage (with Earthquake in the background)? I'm pretty sure that was Galford's stage. Um...it really hase been a while since I played it, and even when I did, I didn't get to play it that much. Any tracks that you think are good are appreciated.

You remember what the file name was? If so, just do a "search" for it.

1)Yep,it's Contra 3 for the Super nintendo,released in 1992.Not super contra 3.

2)soundtracks for TMNT II: THe Arcade game,Yes i do.
TMNT IV: Turtles in Time (SNES version,yes,this one also.
Sunset Riders (arcade version),yeah can get this one too.

3)Why don't you type in the zip name in the search windows thingie.I'm sure it'll come up if you downloaded it.

Folks,the new tribute is up and ready to go.
I want to do more Konami ones as there are so many awesome konami soundtracks.But first of all i wanted to make a tribute to the wonderfull pc engine version of Dracula X,that was later on convertred to super NES as Vampire's kiss in the west.Not near as complete as the PC Engine version but still a good game for the SNES.

I don't think it was the same,but i'm not sure anymore as it has been a long time since i've heard the Saturn version of it.If it is the same one then they copied the original version from this one,the PC Engine version of dracula X.

As far as the soundtracks go,i have the konami soundtracks on cd.Starting from way back with gradius 1 and on until around the super nintendo releases,the saturn ones and perfect selection cd's.Non of the newer next gen console soundtracks though....not yet anyway.But i want to get some of the newer ones originaly.

All the other pc engine games i am tributing come from the original games themself as i have a pc engine+ cd rom,as well as lots of other sega cd games and lots more from other consoles that i just bought for the soundtracks on it.

Anout the mail:strange as my regular mail did arrive.Maybe your mailbox doesn't allow large files to come in?You are on Yahoo did you say?I'll try it again and if they don't arrive tonight then i'll upload them on my site and pass you the link.

Send it again. It occurred to me that the mail wouldn't have even gone through if the file you attached was too large, and you would have gotten it back from the "mailer-daemon", so you apparently forgot to actually attach a file to it. ^_^

Allright, thanks. I've been looking for the Super Contra/Ajax compilation for almost two years now, so I'm rather eager to get it, now that it's at my fingertips.

It can, but my account is full at the moment because I'm hosting some vids for a friend, so I can't recieve them. Keep it handy though; I should be able to free up some space in a day or two.
