It's been pouring all day, so I just kicked back today with a movie. I rented Hard Boiled.
Shit, it was like watching ninjas on fire fighting bigfoots on fire with nothing but electrical cords which are on fire. Utterly fucking awesome.
Johnny fighting Mad Dog in the end was fucking crazy. They kept jumping through windows like crazy. Hell, the whole ending fight of the movie was insane.

Now you see why they got John Woo to come direct American movies. That's definitely one of the best movies to ever come out of Hong Kong.... that's why it's kind of sad to see Chow Yun-Fat reduced to doing a buddy movie with the guy from Dude, Where's my Car.

I just watched it again with commentary. Good insight.
I didn't realize that one scenes where it's 4 or so minutes of pure filming and not cutting away until John mentioned it. That was some Hell of a good choregraphy.
An I agree with Chow Yun's recent motion picture, Hell, pictures, at that. The guy is at his best with a pistol in each hand, not doing crappy buddy flicks.
How fucking cool would he have been in Anna and the King if he out of no wheres pulled out two Beretta 92Fs and just emptied both clips into her? I get a hard on just thinking about it.
Woo and Fat need to get back together and do another movie. Hard Boiled was there last compilation together, right? That was 11 or 12 years ago!!

Yes. I believe Hard Boiled is basically what opened the doors wide to Hollywood for both of them. You hear talk of the two getting together, just like the talk of Jet Li & Jackie Chan finally doing a pic together, but it never seems to pain out.

Hard Boiled has been an inspiration for so much, from bits copied in films to a Savage Dragon comic book series. A classic!
