The last KoF toys were hideous, the last SF toys were amazing....

They've got a lot to improve on/live up to trying to make both... but should they succeed I'll open my wallet and say "I will take one of each please!"

yeah, but this isn't really the same as what Palisades was planning.

Palisades had some lesser characters in it's first batch and had THREE games to pick characters from (SF3:3S, SFA3 Upper, and Darkstalkers 3)... this line is just CvS2 so we know exactly who will show up in future lines (if any).

We can always hope if it succeeds they'll branch out, but I don't think it's likely they'll buy rights to KoF, SamSho, Darkstalkers, SF, etc. just to make a diverse toyline.

I'm still hoping for a REAL new SF toy line, but these could do for now.

Wait a second, I'm gonna be able to buy a Terry figure? Well, it better be good, but in any case, I am suddenly very happy. I will have to get most or all of that toy line anyway if they are good. Too bad it's characters from CvS2 and Blue Mary won't get a figure. Oh well, I'll be happy for what I can get, if the line doesn't get cancelled.

Does SNK even have any say in this? Or is Capcom using the contract to whore out their characters for royalties to keep for themselves lol.

.......I'll still buy the figures anyway @_@

Yes that is a good point. A Donovan and a Gen figure to start the first 2 waves off left a good suggestion that Adon Urien, and Guy figures would most likly ensue. I think what would be really nice about this CvS line is if they produce some figures above and beyond the Gashapons. Not that I don't like the Gashapons but I am hoping this company will complete the entire line for the game, so you casn get everyone and not just like 8 or 10 really really popular characters Chun Li Mai ect...

http://www.action-figure.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=ImageBank&file=index&id=19705

Action-figure.com just report of the coming of these figures and while most of the 'concept art' shown was Shinkiro's(sp?) art from the game, this doesn't seem to match either artist.

Am I mistaken? or could this be an actual piece of concept art of what High Dream is aiming for? or possiblely even an early prototype? (if you look it seems to have clear places for articulation, as well as having a semi-3D look to it)

and the hair color's wrong (but that can be fixed by them before production or me with a paint when I get the figure)

The image comes from a promotional Capcom vs. SNK poster that was released with the Dreamcast version. The full picture is a collage of all the characters drawn by both the Capcom and SNK artists.

CVS2 Toys? These toys represent six Match Ups from SVC for the Neo Geo Pocket!

Ryu vs. Kyo
Ken vs. Terry
Chun-Li vs. Mai
Gouki vs. Iori
Morrigan vs. Nakaruru
Sakura vs. Athena

Well, it's a good place to start anyways! I'm excited!

That's very interesting I just hope they're not sold in 2-packs.

Actually, I take that back, I would mind assuming they don't follow the same mistakes the Kingdom Hearts 2-packs made, they would need a reasonable price point ($15 for two CvS2 figures makes more sense then $15 for one 6in. "good figure" and a smaller, crappier "bonus figure you wouldn't have bought if single carded"... but unless they're in a 7 to 8 in. scale the CvS2 figures should not be priced more then $15 if they want them to sell) also, both figures need very strong sculpts... if I see an Akuma/Iori two-pack and both are very on-model and very well sculpted that are going to look good on my shelf I'd have no problem ploping down my hard earned dough, but if I see a weak sculpt/are off model/look like every other American's sculptors attempt at an "anime" look [where is High Dream from anyway?] I'm going to hesitate before buying... possibly even wait to buy them on discount or not at all.

yeah, so basically...
rivalaries in figures: Good!
high-quality figures at a fair exchange rate: Good!
two-packs: Could be Good assuming the above is put into practice.

Can't be worse than when Chun-Li was packaged with Juggernaut! That was bad...

Though my best friend brought me that Toy because he knows I'm a huge Chun-Li fan, and my love for Chun-Li stops me from throwing it away.

If these Toys look like the Resaurus Toys or better they will rock! Anything less would be uncivilized...

That Chun-Li was awful and proves what I was saying about 2-packs. I stared at that thing for a long time trying to decide if it was worth it "on the one hand it's Chun-Li... on the other hand it's REALLY fugly"

and if those toys look like the Resaurus ones, I hope they're not to the same scale... 8in. toys are too costly for the current market. but if they can capture the look in a 6in. or smaller line they'll offical rock.

Cammy and Gambit were paired together. I liked that.

You know,Resaurus made a good line of toys. I wish they would've continued the SF Jr. series. But they cancelled that. I really wanted that Alex and the Necro for my collection. Dudley and Twelve would make perfect SF3 candidates for Resaurus. I'd love to see that.

You never will see that though, Resaurus is dead and their SF line is too cost ineffective for another company to continue.
