According to www.gamefront.de Capcom first officially stated that there will be a new street figher:

Neues Street Fighter von Capcom

07.05.03 - Anlässlich des 15jährigen Jubiläums der Street Fighter-Serie, plant Capcom einen Nachfolger zu Street Fighter 2 zu veröffentlichen. Das gab ein Capcom-Sprecher gegenüber der aktuellen Dorimaga bekannt.
Das Prügelspiel könnte noch in diesem Jahr in Japan auf den Markt kommen

05.07.03 - Because of the 15 years anniversary of the Street Fighter Series, Capcom's planning to announce a sequel of Street Fighter 2. That was stated by a Capcom spokesman towards the latest Dormaga.
The Beat'em Up could be released in Japan this year.

My two cents:
I don't know if you all know this but I haven't seen a topic about it.
Could that Street Fighter 2 be a typo? I mean there is a sequel to SF2 called SF III.

Maybe they'll finally give us a sequel, in story, to SF2. SF3 seemed to disregard anything that happened during the SF2 games... don't get me wrong, I loved SF3, I'm just curious what the hell happened to all the other characters!

It'd be nice to find out and get to play them in a new SF again, hopefully perhaps playing a bit like SF3.

Capcom had announced that it would have "big plans" near the release of the studio Udon SF2 comic, but it didnt give much detail. It could be SF4, it could be something else.

Just to clear up, I've been reading Gamefront.de for some years now, they are a reliable source, even IGN and the-magicbox sometimes take neww from them.

Edit: I digged out the info about the rumors of the cancellation of Capcom All stars. It was also reported by super reliable http://www.gamefront.de .

Thats exactly what they said about that other obcure foreign site that started spreading lies about the Capcom all stars cancellation. People swore up and down that it was VERY reliable.

Theres no official announcement from Capcom of Japan or Capcom of America, so as it stands this is a bunch of lies. Anyone can type up a bs article and call it breaking news.
