Yeah, the text accompanying the music download says that it's a "MIDI ARRANGE VERSION." Either way, we should expect the music in Aria of Sorrow to be better than that of Harmony of Dissonance; according to Igarashi, the sound engine has been reworked, and more processor cycles have been dedicated to the music. (The article also mentions cart space -- but was that really so much a problem in the SNES days?)
[Edit: Having watched the trailer several times now (WANT IT... SO... BAAAD!), I can probably say that the music in the trailer is pretty much what we should expect in the game. So, maybe aside from the heavy amount of reverb and the number of simultaneous instruments playing at once for the music (plus, maybe a GBC sound in the background at times), the music might not actually sound too different. Maybe the difference will be similar to the difference between Original and Arrange versions of music in Neo-Geo games (er, think of the better examples of Original music).]
