First, the links:

Official site

Downloads

Here you'll find a sample of the game's music (DOWNLOAD IT NOW!!), and a wallpaper.

The music is simply awesome. Godly quality (Is that really GBA sound?), and great composition. I'm feeling that Aria of Sorrow is going to be even better than Symphony of the Night.

CAN'T WAIT!!

EDIT: It looks like the sample is an arranged version, but somebody who knows Japanese please confirm this.

dunno if it's arranged - is the music still done by mana of Malice Mizer fame for this one?

[edit] it's not mana >_<

Is it arranged then? Now that I had finally listened it... It's way cool anyway.

Yeah, the text accompanying the music download says that it's a "MIDI ARRANGE VERSION." Either way, we should expect the music in Aria of Sorrow to be better than that of Harmony of Dissonance; according to Igarashi, the sound engine has been reworked, and more processor cycles have been dedicated to the music. (Source: IGN Pocket)

(The article also mentions cart space -- but was that really so much a problem in the SNES days?)

[Edit: Having watched the trailer several times now (WANT IT... SO... BAAAD!), I can probably say that the music in the trailer is pretty much what we should expect in the game. So, maybe aside from the heavy amount of reverb and the number of simultaneous instruments playing at once for the music (plus, maybe a GBC sound in the background at times), the music might not actually sound too different. Maybe the difference will be similar to the difference between Original and Arrange versions of music in Neo-Geo games (er, think of the better examples of Original music).]

Believe it or not, I missed the trailer when exploring the site. I'm downloading right now.

Stupid me.

Do any of you guys know where I can download music from CotM or HoD that sounds this good?

I mean is there arranged tracks to these games or anything of really good quality?

"Another Arranged BGM piece for download!" , posted Tue 29 Apr 19:54:post reply

Check the download site for yet another Arranged MIDI Version of a piece from Aria of Sorrow: this time, it's an arranged version of the first musical piece found in the trailer!

Plus, there's another wallpaper for those that may be interested.

Hell yeah! Keep 'em coming! :D If they did this for the entire soundtrack, I'd download/buy it in a heartbeat.

Great! Not as good as the first one, but cool nonetheless.

The game arrives the US in a week or so, no? Please post your impressions when you get it.

Mmm, that new track is great stuff. The more baroque influence (Bach especially) Castlevania music has, the better IMO. I'm sooo excited for this game. :D

What an awesome game Just played a few minutes of it. Its more like SOTN with the sword. A real nice feature is stealing the monster abilities and seemingly leveling them up. I got this skeleton ability to throw the bones.

How'd you play it? I'm planning on picking it up next week some time. Although I'd like a 2D PS2 Castlevania, I more than appreciate 3 on the GBA in 2 years.

I just found the kung-fu maids.

Is this a new creature for the game?

Castlevania Chronicles had ninja maids if that's similar enough.

Kung-fu maids and ninja skeletons..

I love the weapons.... they are WAY more varied than sotn. If thats what it looks like in teh item menu, it most likely will look that way when you use it. Not to mention every red soul you collect is a subweapon. Nice. Didnt find the boomerang cross.... but the axe knights axe works exactly the same way...ill let that slide.

"3rd MIDI Arrange, more wallpaper, & a thought" , posted Thu 8 May 15:12:post reply

Just follow the link to the download page. The 3rd MIDI Arrange Version is of the second piece you hear in the Trailer.

I was thinking about it earlier -- wasn't Aria of Sorrow the Castlevania that was once a PS2 project? If so, could it be that these are actually pieces that were meant to be in the PS2 title?

[EDIT: Not that I have a problem with androgynous characters that are supposed to personify beauty... but in that fourth wallpaper, it's even harder to determine than in the first wallpaper whether Soma is male or female.]
