"What have Garfield & Knight Rider in common?" , posted Sun 20 Apr 09:37:post reply

Answer: Seems they're both going to have their own movies.

For the Garfield one, just look at its official page www.garfield.com, seems the news has been there for a while but I didn't know .

For Super Knight Rider 3000 I can't provide any official link, so it's not sure, but it seems it would be produced, but not starred, by David Hasselhoff & that he seems to want the original series' creator Glen A. Larson in it.

With regards to Garfield, I loved the strip growing up, and I loved the wit of the TV series. So, done right, it could bring up wonderful feelings of nostalgia. Done less than perfect, and, uh... Garfield's expression on that page would pretty much sum it up.

I didn't like the series much... and that Scooby-Doo format...
Hhmmmmm...me doesn't have much good feelings about this.

This won't work. Garfield and co. are simply too cartoonish to translate to live action.

They should scrap the idea now and use the money to make better strips.

I assume the Garfield movie is live action

"
While the voice behind Garfield has not yet been cast, Breckin Meyer (Clueless, Can't Hardly Wait, Road Trip) has been cast as Garfield's owner "Jon Arbuckle," and Jennifer Love Hewitt has been signed to play "Liz."
"

To update Garfield for this decade, Garfield will probably rap and do extasy and twirl glow sticks. Remember, extasy is actually cat tranquilizers.

"
Jim Davis has worked closely with John Davis, Peter Hewitt, Alec Sokolow and Joel Cohen over the last year to help insure that the Garfield attitude and humor permeate the entire project. "The movie is going to be classic Garfield," says Davis, "and it's FUNNY!".
"

Liar!

Seriously though, it's good that Jim Davis is involved for the project's sake though.

Night Rider

Staring Joe Millionaire as The Night Rider
James Lipton as Kit the Car
Eminem as Jose el Ninja Blanco

Sound track by DMX, Methodman with Redman and Moby and Limp Bixkir.
New theme song by Eminem and David Hasselhoff "Night Ride-uhs"
Remix by Snoop Dogg and Bootsy Collins "Dah Nizzight Rizzide-uhs"

edit: I promise not to do this joke again.

unless I change my mind

Garfield isn't Garfield without the voice of Lorenzo Music. Its that simple.

Jennifer Love Hewitt as Liz totally blows. She looks nothing like her, and doesn't have the hard ass attitude.

Who the hell is Happy?

Where's Odie and Lyman?

Uh... crap -- I didn't note the possibility that it was live action. As soon as I saw the word "voice" for Garfield, I automatically assumed it was an animated movie, not that Garfield and other animal-type characters would be the only animated characters (unless they try to use live animals -- please, NOOOO!).

If it does turn out to be live action -- future prospects don't seem so rosy.

There is a chilenean sub for Garfield here in sudamerica... I have heard the original English voice and I got to say that the chilenean one beats the lights out of it; and this is not a "my country rules" foolish fanatic sentence; the "seiyuu" was great.

For me there are two parts of Garfield: The original, strong and ironic and the comertial one; that was focused on christmas specials and several human subjects that doesn't suit the rude and incredible cool Garfield... I wonder what "generation" will make it to the movie.

It'll be Scooby-Doo (or Rocky & Bullwinkle) alike: CG Garfield & Odie (& I guess Nermal and Arlene) and real actors for the rest of humans. No, no... don't like the idea...

Totally and completely agree. And I guess they'll do the usual thing in movie adaptations: at the beginning Garfield will be as we know him, and close to the end, something very "special" will happen that'll make Garfield act specially too, ruining the original. As they always do

If somebody still doubted it, now it's definitive. Hollywood needs more money but has run out of ideas. We have:

- Jurassic Park 4, with good ol' Steven back into direction.

- Scary Movie 4. Yeah, yeah, 4.

- And a rumour about Alien 5, with J. Cameron as scriptwriter.

Well, I have to say that I'm surprised they are making a JP4. Don't get me wrong, I liked the others, though the second one was no where near as good as the first and third. I even thought the third was as good as the first. I don't think a 4th JP is a good idea. Now, SM4? I mean, SM3 isn't even out yet, that just sounds kinda dumb to me. (Never saw the other Scary Movies, so I'm not judging this movie franchise) Alien 5 could be interesting. Anyways, I don't mind sequels, as long as they are done well. I would like to see a Ghostbusters 3. Anyways, a Knight Rider movie could be great IF it was just called Knight Rider and based exactly on the original show (cause there was another Knight Rider that didn't last cause it sucked). It would also have to star David Hasselhoff (sp?) and Mr. Feeny (well, that's what I remember the actor most for, cause I'm a fan of Boy Meets World) would have to return to voice Kitt. Otherwise it'll most likely suck.

I do know that in the Garfield movie, only Garfield will be CG rendered, while the other animals will all be real with CG moving lips.

As for Knight Rider, I'm not sure what form it will take. I read somewhere that Hasselhof will be cameoing, but not as Michael Knight. Some have speculated that the movie will be an origin story and that Vin Diesel is being looked at as the lead actor. Then again, I also heard a rumor that this might also be comedy movie.

*sigh* Still waiting for Cyborg: The Six Million Dollar Man movie (and I heard Kevin Smith's script rocked!)

Just do you know, its Scary Movie 3, not 4. And since I enjoyed the other 2, I hope it'll be just as good.

Haven't been very many decent off the wall comedies/parodies lately. :\

No, no, no. Perhaps it might be a fake rumour (I don't think so, but I'm not sure enough) but not an error.
It's Scary Movie 4 announced for 2004.
I guess 3 might come sooner this year...

Yeah, I've also read that Scary Movie 3 is about to come out and they have already planned to have Scary Movie 4 in 2004.

"Oh my gosh.. now Conan..." , posted Tue 22 Apr 13:57:post reply

King Conan: Crown of Iron with Schwarzie back as the big guy, two professional wrestlers: Triple H and Chynia (guess some of you know'em) as Conan's rivals and a rumoured role for Sean Connery. John Milius will be the director (he directed the 1st one).

Don't get me wrong. I also like that they do sequels to movies I enjoyed, but this is getting a bit...euh...exagerated? They're going for easy money, without venturing into anything new, more now than ever, retaking old movies that were settled and closed like this Conan saga or Indiana Jones. I like a lot IJ, but I like as it is, a great trilogy, and I'm really afraid of what may come out of this new chapter... :S
