I like it myself. It's functional, can be easily read from far away (important when on billboards!) and is passingly evocative of Ye Olde Square logo.

I'm not crazy over it, because, hey, it's just a logo.

I dunno, I kind of like it. The shift in color on the middle dashes on the two E's gets your attention without being overwhelming. I'm also happy they didn't try to smush the two names together into SQUARENIX or something equally preposterous.

What is up with these changes all of a sudden? Konami just changed theirs to commemorate their 30th birthday (I believe) and it looks bad. Now, Square Enix has a bad logo also.

Gee. If logo designing was a job and a real decent paying one, I'd instantly take it in a heartbeat. That's for sure.

I don't know, I like it. It has the "techno-style" font of the Enix logo with the bit of red in it like Square's logo. A perfect merge of the original logos IMHO

I actually like it. It's very simple. It's not overly pretty and it's not too plain, either. I'm a huge fan of plain logos like that. It almost makes them seem modest and ungarish. ^_^

Hmm, a little too "hard" a font for my tastes, but it does have something thematic (red E lines), unlike Konami's crap logo. Getting an effective yet subtle pattern is key, but amazingly hard, so why change the triangle (or more importantly, the Konami squiggles) unnecessarily, but hey. Staggering to think the pay these designers must get. Working Designs always had a keen logo, I thought, as does ESP. Now that I think of it, Square (or at least Squaresoft USA's)'s logo did used to be diff around the FF IV era...the font was less bold, as I recall.

What the hell happened to all of the good Japanese graphic designers? I KNOW I've seen their work somewhere. I've seen some really good Japanese graphic design... why they hell can't these HUGE companies find decent graphic designers? That I'll agree with. While I don't hate it... you have a point. The colors are very contrasting and there is aboslutely nothing to soften it. They could do with a slight slant.. less of those 90 degree angles that make it harsh and overly modern looking. But all in all.. I don't mind it at all.

It's a serviceable logo, though I would of liked a font a bit more similiar to the older Square one.

Weird, though, that they are going by Square Enix in the US and Europe. Figured with Enix being an unknown they'd just go with Square itself...
