I was thinking of doing this thread sooner or later, and now I have the perfect excuse with the previous av and tag threads. So, what does your nickname mean? Where does it come from? Why did you choose it? etc?
Mine is (too?) simple: I'm a novice on all this Internet thing, a very basic user, so I'm registered in very few places, and now I put this nick, now this other one.... so when I wanted to join here I found myself without a fix nick, and that's how I named myself: "Without nick". I wrote it in Spanish, joining the 2 words and taking out the 'k': Sin nick -> Sinnic. but someone else already had this one, so I wrote it in Catalan: Sense nick -> Sensenic. Et voilą!
Rincewind: Hello! Anyone out there?!

Wow... now it makes sense. I've had this name in my head since the days of the original Monster Rancher on PSX. I had the zombie monster, and I named it Undead Fred. I had been thinking of good zombie names then, and that was one of the ones I came up with. I'm really into zombies (if you haven't guessed), and the name stuck. I've been using the name online since then.

Looong loong story.
Pre-1993: My brother starts calling me "Video Man" because I can learn new games pretty fast (or so he says). I didn't have much of a problem with that (hey, I was less than 13 then).
1993: Seiken Densetsu 2 (Secret of Mana) is released, and its time to put a name to the main character. "VideoMan" doesn't fit in six letters, so I end up putting "V.Man". I ended up liking the game so much (and I still do) that I based the VMan character after Randi (plus some Saint Seiya/Street Fighter/whatever-based modifications), and changed the name to "Video Man, Knight of Mana", using "V. Man of Mana" as an acronym.
Circa 1995: Eventually, I found the "ideo" part to be way too corny, so I got rid of it ending up with "VMan of Mana". I often use the name "VManOfMana" for those places where spaces are not allowed in names (like IRC).
Since then, everywhere I put a nick it is either "VMan of Mana" or "VManOfMana".

Dude... holy crap. I remember you from DALnet #square. I had no clue you came to the boards here.
Well, as you can see from my post count I am mostly a lurker. Not much time to post things up. I often come to this forum since there are always interesting things coming out.
Yes, I used to be at DALnet's #square during my high school and early college days (1995-1998). Hopefully you weren't there when I gave the encyclopedic version of my nick's history... everyone laughed at me :P After Thor left and the channel became to hectic (read: offtopic) and in some way overpopulated I eventually gave up on the channel. After that I ended in undernet's #os/2 (1997-2000) and then moved to DALnet's #animecafe (1999-present), which moved to aniverse.
What name did/do you use in #square?
---
Gen: maybe you have, these are the places where I remember posting more than once in the past years: * DALnet's #square, #os/2, #animecafe * Undernet's #os/2, #os2warp * Aniverse's #animecafe * Mozilla.org #mozillazine * Indiana Sailor Moon Mailing List * Megatokyo forums (posted only during the early days, became too big) * Shoryuken forums * MMCafe forums
I have also placed random/one time posts in different places, but I doubt you would remember my name from a place like that.
