I was playing Ocarina of Time and this question came to my mind: Which videogame characters do you know to be left-handed? It'd be specially with 3D games' characters, because with 2D, this "sprite symmetry" trick was used so with only half the number of sprites you could have a character, as happens in fighting games: a character's right-handed when looking to the right and becomes left-handed when looking to the left. These ones wouldn't count unless it's obviously visible and/or officially stated.
My lefty'd be Link of Hyrule. I've been playing OoT for a while (not much) and I didn't notice until recently that he always uses the left hand for the sword and other weapons, leaving the right one only for the shield; that he shots the slingshot and the bow in the left-handed way; that he kicks open the small chests with his left foot; that, in the title screen, he cleans Epona with his left hand, and so... After that I've been "searching" a little and I see that this happens in Wind Waker, in A Link to the Past, where only the "looking to the right" sprite is right-handed because of the previously mentioned symmetry trick, and even in Soul Calibur 2. So I guess it was a well known, made on purpose, fact, but I didn't know and it quite surprised me....

Yeah, Cain is left-handed. So is Palom. Porom is right-handed though.
In Samurai Spirits, a good chunk of the cast wields swords in their left hands, assuming that when facing on the 1P side, that is how they really are. Genjuro, Ukyo, Nakoruru, Rimururu, Tam Tam, Kazuki, and Sogetsu all at least slash with their left hand. And my personal favorite, Charlotte, is lefty as well.
I'm left handed, too.

Actually, as far as the likes of Sephiroth goes, we can't really be sure, I would think. No matter whether one is left- or right- handed, the dominant sword in any kenjutsu (kendou) style is the left; the right hand merely guides, which is likely why Sephiroth walks around with Masamune in his left. When I'm practicing myself, I almost never let go of the blade with my left hand. Just a quibble to add a bit of mystery.
Ruroken's Saitou, and indeed the real Saitou, were left-handed which coincided well with Kenjutsu's left-hand dominance to produce his "Left-Hand Strike." Given that there WAS a game chara modelled off Saitou in Last Blade, I'd think he would be left-handed, at least!
