I saw the movie last night and I have gotta say is was amazing. The special sense was portrayed rather nicely and types of distraction messing up his sense helped make it more believeable/realistic. It had much better dialog than Spider-Man and a whole lot more action. I recommend this to any fan, however, this movie is in the upper EXTREMEs of PG-13 so you might wanna caution with little kids. Whenever you see Bullseye(Daredevil villain) violence will follow.
Example,
The Elektra/Matt relationship was really well done when compared to Spider-Man. It didn't suffer from corny dialog(see hospital scene in Spidey for example) and flowed well. The fight scenes were awesome, the last 30-45 minutes was nothing but fighting with a few lines of dialong inbetween. However I only have a few dislikes. One being that some aspects did not get enough air time. One being that Kingpin was shown not nearly enough. For being such a big character in the DD world it seemed that Bullseye was more of the villian in this movie than Kingpin. However, now that I think about it that is how it should be since Kingpin knows not to get directly involved. But oh well, a sequel would surly put more focus on him more. And they only showed Matt in court once the whole movie, kinda not devoloping one side of his character.

DD movie was better than I expected, but still leagues below Spider-man. Worth mentioning is the new trailer they showed for X2... WOW... just wow...
Speaking of DD spoilers...
Make sure to stay after the ending credits for a surprise!
Spoiler (Highlight to view) - Bullseye is still alive!!!

Oh well to each his own. But how could I forget the X2 trailer?! The second one looks action packed! Jean is actually using psychic shields and there is Collosus(sp?) and Nightcrawler showing off their power, both look really awesome. The reailer alone was worth the overpriced ticket. $6 frickin dollars WITH the student discount!

I heard about the post credits thing before hand so I held my friends there an extra minute or so until it ran. We were in a big showing room(like 50 rows back) so only a small fraction of the audience left.

I loved the movie. I liked it better than Spider-Man because I like the dark atmosphere (my favorite superhero is Batman), and I used to be a BIG DD fan back when I was about 11 yrs old.
Anyway, I liked the movie so much that when I left I wanted Capcom to make MvC3 or MSH 2 and put Daredevil in it. THAT's how much I loved it!

Nice! I hope to watch this movie soon.
...
Daredevil was supposed to open on the 14th but was banned by the government's censorship board at the last minute -_-;;;
Nevermind; there's always the DVD :)

Do you live in Malaysa? Because I read last night that it was banned there for "excessive violence"

Hey, Holiday, got some stuff you might like. Drop me a line on ICQ.

I think I read somewhere that Kingpin is signed for two movies. I know that Elektra is. So far as the not showing the Kingpin enough, you're right with the behind the scenes deal and a good bit of the Kingpin scenes were cut. The ones I can recall right now are one for 'excessive violence' and another in a jail cell.

two questions:
1-Is the Hulk trailer being shown with DD?! Because I really want to see that damned Hulk trailer.
2-So from what I read both villians Spoiler (Highlight to view) - don't die
End of Spoiler if that's true I hope it's a trend that continues in comic films. I hated that aspect of the Batman movies.
DD seems to only be getting so-so reviews (Rotten Tomatoes has it at 49%) so I'm probably going to wait for the DVD... and if Kevin Smith had to get a cameo, I still say Jay and Silent Bob should have been in the movie! (I mean DD was in THEIR movie! Can't the guy pay back a favore?)

The theatre I was at didn't show it. Though X2 looks like it has the potential to own this summer.
Failed Scripts: Robin: Omnipotent sacred bovine Batman! Batman: Huh? Robin: "Holy cow". Geez I thought you were supposed to be the worlds greatest detective. Batman: Another comment like that you'll have to join the Mystery Men because I'm not paid enough to listen to you. Robin: You? Not paid enough??? Erm nevermind...

I really liked DD. Saw it Friday and Saturday. I think it was as good as Spidey was. The X2 trailer was awesome (watching Nightcrawler kick people and teleport was great). I can't wait for X2.

Siskel and Roper give it 2 thumbs up though. That's gives the movie a lot of credit though.

Thoughs guys haven't influenced my opinions in movies since...ever. And I think Roper will approve of anymove with a guy wearing leather. I haven't listened to a word he has said since his Metropolis review. BTW I am just kidding about the gay innuendo of Roper, I just dont listen to the guy. Just trying to have fun.

That's cool. Anyway, I just found out that it's the #1 movie in the US, grossing $43.5 Million. Which of course is nothing compared to Spidey's $114 Mil, but damn DD isn't a very well known and recongnizable character and doesn't have that attraction to kids either.

$43 million is pretty damn impressive. Good for Daredevil.

That's impressive considering Siskel's been dead for 4 or so years now... (I still call the show "Siskel and Ebert" myself -_- so I'm probably not one to make fun)
Ebert's show stopped being good after Siskel passed on. Sure "Two Thumbs Up" looks great on posters still, but it doesn't mean the same thing! Before it meant two critics at the top of their game, possibly the best in their field, had enjoyed your film.
Now it means a washed up hack and someone with no skill as a reviewer (isn't Roper not even really a critic? I don't think I've ever seen a print review by him) didn't totally hate your movie.
I don't even think most people care what they say anymore... if you see "Two Thumbs" on a movie you like you say "Look it got two thumbs up! Means it's good!" but if they give thumbs down to a movie you like suddenly you say "Those two don't know anything about films! They Suck!"
ah well, I'm just rambling now...
(fun coincidence: On the episode of 'the Critic' were Siskel and Ebert break-up one of the possible new partners Siskel interviews and turns out to be Satan looks an awful lot like a cartoon version of Roper. Obviously it's nothing more then an odd fluke... but still wacky!)

LOL, my bad. I don't know the names, because I don't watch the show and I usually don't listen to critics, but I mean everyone damn near jumped on DD and said it was gonna suck just because of Ben Affleck and a black Kingpin. I'm just trying to prove them wrong everyway I can.
