Did I see right? .hack//sign starts this Saturday on the Cartoon Network.

Says 3pm, makes it sound like it is running, not just a special.

Kinda curious to see what it is like, the animation didn't seem all that impressive in the commercial. But am curious about the game a little.

If it makes you feel better the game is supposed to come with some sort of anime dvd. Not sure if its the first episodes or if its just an introduction to the series (dont mark my words tho.)

I been hearing about the series for a while but never been able to see it.

Edit: Here's the features according to IGN store

* .hack is volumne 1 of a 4 part series.

* An original totally entrancing, action/RPG game.

* Character design by Yoshiyuki Sadamoto, famous character designer of Evangelion.

* An engaging and immersive storyline scripted by Kazunori Ito, acclaimed writer of "Ghost on the Shell" and "Patrabor".

* Includes original DVD animation. Watch it for clues on how to solve the game's mystery.

I dunno. I'm not really into the MMMMORP-whatever scene so I don't really get the series. My roommate and I saw the second episode and had no idea what was going on. When that one chick got stabbed by the thief guy, I made the sarcastic comment "Uh-oh, looks like she got pked!" but in the next scene she was back talking about being player killed, so my joke wasn't as funny as I thought.

Plus I want whatever that blue faced guy was smoking when he started going off about how he commit genocide everytime he turned off a console RPG.

The DVDs that comes with the PS2 games are OVAs, different from the TV series they're airing now.

Personally, I found the TV series to be rather boring. It was interesting at first, but my interest got lower and lower as it progressed.

And yeah, Radish, I thought that was hilarious.. the show takes itself too seriously in my opinion.

The first Hack TV anime is an intresting plot idea, slowed down by lackluster storytelling. Way too much talking, and way too little action.

It is worth a watch on TV though, and the Soundtrack is really top notch.

Now, if they release season 2 on TV in NA then go out of your way to watch it. The lighter feel and faster pace make the story flow much better, and it still has the cool mysterious plot line with it..

I missed the first episode but I saw the second one, and having played a MMORPG before (Ultima Online, which is excellent) I thought it was very interesting. The PK thing is funny to me. I had a friend who played Ultima Online but he did everything by himself, and never had a party or anything with him. Anyway, one time when he was a really high level and had a lot of really good items on him, he ran into a "party" of PKers and they wiped him out and stole all of his stuff. I think it's so funny that there are groups of people who go out of their way to just be Player Killers and steal stuff. Ok, so maybe it's only funny to me, but I bet other MMORPGers have had experiences like this.

Actually thats pretty hilarious. I wonder if they can find some deep and spiritual value to lag (a glitch on the matrix!!!) and to illegal operation messages!

And don't forget the dreaded Blue screen of death, which would be like meeting god in the virtual world...

Or meeting a door to door salesman. Either or...

Yeah, I'm enjoying season 2 (.hack//DUSK) more as well (only seen two episodes though), since it doesn't take itself so seriously. It's cute, if albeit unremarkable.
