seriously, colored manuals have a psychological effect on me. i feel more motivated to play a game that has a colored manual, as if it's better than it really is. and just the opposite towards B&W manuals, i think a game will be more boring. and i realized that most, if not all, games developed for a nintendo console (except NES) have colored manuals. maybe i'm a nintendo fan based soley on that? all right, i'll shut up now

Well, I sort of agree. Game manuels that are in black and white make me feel as if the game company went cheap on me. (Because they did.) I'm disappointed to see all that cool work done by the illustrator put to waste because it's in black and white and no one really likes illustrations in black and white that weren't intented to be that way. It's more creative in color.. you get a better sense of things.. ^_^ So I agree with a bit o' dat.

Agreed. It almost always makes the images more visible, and it just gives off the aura of quality.

After reading your post, I was going to scan in the page off of a game manual that referred to black-and-white pictures to compare the different-colored items. However, I can neither remember the example nor the game, so just pretend I didn't say anything.

Does anyone remember the instruction manuals of the PC Engine games? Sometimes it was a single sheet of paper. Still, I used to love the games.
