How do I get rid of the 1 second silence between themes (mp3) on Winamp? I'm using 2.81, since 3 is too heavy for my pc.

Here's what I know. The short version is there's no easy way.
As far as I know winamp doesn't add any silence between songs. If there is some it could be from a relatively slower PC that winamp is overspeced for.
I've heard rumors of programs that automatically shave silence off the begining and end of mp3s, but from my experiance with similar programs, these are just non-profit slap togethers that will disappoint and not meet expectations.
If you have an audio editing program that lets you use mp3s you can manually shave off silent parts which will probably not be worth the effort. Or if no mp3 version, you can use a wave editing program, and after convert back to mp3.
I think winamp3 has a fade between songs effect that will start the next song before the previous song is finished. I didn't like winamp3 my self and the only winamp installed on this computer is 2.81 (not that I like winamp that much). Of course this is fade in/out and not really eliminate the 1 second silence. I think you can set how long the fade lasts though.

If you're looking to get rid of any silence on the mp3 itself, the "other" tab in the directsound output configuration has that option. You can also try setting the fade length to 0, or turning fade off.

Thanks for the info. I've been trying to figure out how to get rid of the pause as well.

does anyone know if there's an option (or plug-in) that can be used to loop a song from "point A" to "point B?" for example, let's say i want to start a song at 00:24 and have it start over at 02:51

and the number one sign that you're suffering from insomnia: you had two hours of sleep the night before, there's school the next day, and you're up at 2:27AM, bumping a thread
good night, everbody!

i feel bad that the plug-in was just waiting at winamp.com but it did save me the trouble of browsing through 3,044 plug-ins featuring flashy, spinning colors. thank you
