I just got two e-mails like this from an "admin@kofonline"

This E-Mail is never sent unsolicited. If you receive this
E-Mail then it is because you have subscribed to the official
newsletter at the KOF ONLINE website.

King Of Fighters is one of the greatest action game ever made.
Now after the mind boggling sucess of KOF 2001 SNK proudly
presents to you KOF 2002 with 4 new charecters.

Even though we need no publicity for our product but this
time we have decided to give away a fully functional trial
version of KOF 2002. So check out the attached trial version
of KOF 2002 and register at our official website to get a free
copy of KOF2002 original version

With it comes a 40k EXE attachment. I dare not try it. It's way too risky. I mean for one this KOFonline doesn't exist (trying www.kofonline.com anyway) and two, if this demo WAS legit, wouldn't it be more than 40k? And thridly, I've gotten a couple e-mails similar to this, but strangely it was "admin@hackers.com". My only guess it's a virus, I certainly don't want to bve sure.

Just thought I'd tell you all.

www.kofonline.com does indeed exist, and its one of the biggest KOF fan sites out there. Some dick made a virus and a fake email in an attempt to make the site look bad. There's an article about it there.

And yes, anyone who thinks KOF 2002 is only 40k (and opens any strange attachments for that matter) deserves to get infected. ;)

If anyone gets infected, it shows that they never play KOF seriously before. 2002 has NO new characters - it is a dream match, and furthermore there are 7 returning characters not 4.

Yeah,I read at KOF Online that they already posted this warning.

They said,of course,there was no such e-mail as that. And that the virus was deadly or something.

So that's where the virus came from... and that'd be also an explanation on why that damn demo didn't work, no matter how hard I tried...
