I was trying to post something days ago, but for some reason I couldn't even access mmcafe from my parent's house in the swamplands of America, on their crappy PC using their crappy AOL.

At any rate, before I forget, I had a chance to play VF Evolution while I was down there. I didn't have time to analyze or take it apart or anything, but I just had some random comments:
Goh is a badass. His personality is kind of a Byran ripoff, but who gives a crap.
Brad is a freaking gay twit. He joins Jacky and Lion in the stupid voices category. And I hate him even more because...
Vanessa has NO kickboxing moves any more, because Sega gave them all to that twit Brad. Plus, they got rid of her 1p outfit! WTF? Now it's just a yellow palette swap of her p2 outfit. They gave her a lot of new moves that I couldn't figure out, but they didn't seem as useful as the kickboxing ones...
A lot of old throws were removed from the game, like Pai's and Sarah's regular throws. Strange, but their new throws are okay. I guess.
I played Lau a lot. I never played him before though, so... bleh. He does some mad stupid juggle damage.
And oh yeah, they finally randomized the stage order. Sort of. Actually it changes every time the game is powered on, but it stays the same way until it's turned off. Better than the old way though.

I also played Rygar, which was awesome. The graphics are gorgeous, soundtrack is great, the way he uses the diskarmor is freaking TIGHT, and the destructible environments, whee! My only complaint about the game is the damned camera angles. I just HATE it when a game constantly changes camera angles and yet the control scheme is dependent on the camera (like Devil May Cry). I just wish I had bought the game instead of renting it now. :(

Anyway, happy holidays and all. I'm gonna take a load off now... jetlag is a bitch.

Rygar's graphics are very good quality. The thing that gets me about it is the depth of the backgrounds... when you're running around, you get a view of the ocean below, islands from afar, a huge sunrise, etc. And lots of destructible Greek architecture. The game hasn't been too difficult, but then I haven't beaten it yet (3-4 hours into it). Some of the fights can be difficult, but that's only half because I was using the wrong kind of diskarmor for it. I dunno how long it is, though judging from certain events and items obtained I'd say I'm a little more than half-way through. There's a gallery where you unlock artworks, movies, and music tracks. Speaking of which, I *really* wish I knew who wrote the soundtrack because it's really really good. In fact, it's the best game soundtrack I've heard this year, bar none. The translation and voice acting are a little below par, but they're tolerable. Rygar sounds a bit like Yami-Yugi from Yugi-Oh.

You lucky son off a gun. I probably won't be playing VF4 E until its PS2 release. Wolf seems like a total bad ass now that he has a Shining Wizard and A DDT. I keep on wishing that Gameworks down here would get it. You would think that a SEGA owned arcade would be getting a lot of SEGA games, especially big ones like VF, but NOOO they get nothing new for like 3 months. The new game they have there is House of the Dead 3, which is $2 for one credit. Well, I better stop before I have a heart attack.

NOooooooooooooooo!

They NERFED her? I hope they give her good moves. Vanessa, she was my favorite character, and I was finally getting good at all all those Mui Thai moves! That's what made her powerful... rrrrrrrrrr...
Dang it, they could have nerfed Jacky and Sarah, they are annoying as hell...
