No, it ended (fiuuu).
But don't worry, he is working (has already finished?) a mind-blasting super great best ever series, Chikyûbôeitai Maochan (or something like that) with the oh so exciting story of 3 8 year old ugly girls that protect the earth against some "Cute Aliens". Last detail : they transform into cheerleader (not exactly.... "majorettes" more than "pompom girls". sort of) and the series was aired late in the night, an hour when only otaku watch TV and make gore dôjin with little girls. This is oh so great.

Mao-chan hasn't ended yet, almost though, assuming that it'd run for 26 episodes of course.

Akamatsu's "real" next work is supposed to start next year in february, I don't really consider Mao-chan to be his work, though he did partly work on it.

Mao-chan was only good for the first 15 episodes or so, then it was only good for all the love hina stuff that came randomly. Though Naru seemed a little off-character...

I've just finished to watch all the 26 episodes, xmas, spring, and the 3 love hina again, and it seems the story is really ended...

the anime ends a little over half way through the manga, which is like ten times better. don't get me wrong, I love the anime to death, but everything is SOOO much better in the manga.

So for Mutsumi, we're just guessing... Though we see all three kids during intro of x-mas special.

Read the manga and all will be revealed....I have all that's been released in the US so far. I love the anime, but the manga is better. A lot more things go on in it.
