By the way SA-X isn't Samus from Super Metroid, just her armor. You'll see what I mean when you play it for those of you that haven't. ;)
There's also Kingdom Hearts, which I thoroughly enjoyed, Age of Mythology, UT2003, and of course KOF 2002.
Freedom Force
Holy crap! There's someone else here that's actually played it! :D
Wahhh! Supermetroid is the best! No really, I own every metroid game except for Prime (not out in europe yet, have to borrow it from a friend INCLUDING his us-gamecube)
You can't really compare Prime with the others, but between Fusion and Super I allways go with Super Metroid. I mean the non-linear design was allways the greates thig about Metroid, you know? Yes, Fusion has a much better story, but Super Metroid- man they'll never make anything so damn dramatic like the fight agains motherbrain in Super Metroid. Never! And simply the feeling- I'm not strong enough, I'll come with better equipment is much more satisfying because of the non-linearity of super.

The Crazy picks are:
Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2. The first one was one of all time favs, and this one beautifully brought to an advanced system.
Warcraft 3. I suck at it and never got around to finishing it. But after seeing Two Towers, and the Ents, been thinking about it more now.
Unreal Tournament 2003. Yeah I know a lot of people don't care for this game, but until this one I never liked a FPS. I love the whole motif they used for this one, not quite Quake, but heavy on the fantastic side nonetheless. I still suck at shooters, but enjoy playing this one.
Neverwinter Nights. Hopefully I will get back to it someday, but too much good stuff keeps distracting me.
Mechassualt. Because it was my first XBox game, and I loved it. It is what I am playing now. [Yes, I got the Box for XMas]
But my all time favorite game for the year, the one that I like to go back to and blow steam on...
Mark of Kri This game got NO love from Sony when it was released! Only after the critics heaped praise on it, did it occur to Sony to promote it. And the worst crime? THEY friggin' made the game in house! I love this game and highly recommend you guys give it a rental try. Won't matter if you buy it now, Sony already said it didn't sell well enough to warrant a sequel.
Damn them and their anti import playing stance! That is two crimes I now hold them responsible for! Arrggh!!
[Shakes fist as he walks off, thinking about what he looks forward to next year in gaming. Hey an idea for a post!]

Animal Crossing can best be described as Hello Kitty meets The Sims meets the furniture collection part of Castlevania:Harmony of Dissonance. It's a life sim (in the loosest sense of the term) where you are a human who has just moved to a randomly generated village populated by animals. There, you can buy stuff, sell stuff, fish, run errands, play NES games, dig for fossils, create clothing, collect insects, decorate your house, plant a garden, write letters, etc. The game also uses the Gamecube's internal clock to keep time and date so that everything is real time and so that real world holidays, such as Halloween appear in sync with the real world. The NPC's are all different types of animals, all with First Grade reading comprehenshion skills and kleptomaniacal tendencies, but they're overall really fun "people", each with their own personality and habits. The graphics are N64 level; the sound is SNES quality, but still quite good, with great variety.

Wow! Interesting. Seems similar to the Monster Rancher games, except of course, the notable differences.
