I got the first issue of Shonen Jump yesterday along with 20 other articels of mail(i really should check the mail more then 5 times a month...) and out of all the mangas in there One Piece, SandLand and Naruto were the the ones I was looking most foward to.
One Piece was great! cant wait to see more!

Sandland was cool, but ill reserve judgment till the story gets going which will hopefully not be as repetative as the Dragonball/Z series(which i love but, come on).

As for Naturo.......WTF it wasnt even in the issue, guess its one more reason to get the next issue.

DragonBall Z, i have yet to read it.....I love DB/Z but i would have much rather be reading something else ... anything else, a person gets kind of tired of seening the same series for 5 years, know what i mean? Oh and one thing thats been pissing me off with the American DBZ, the name is Saiya-Jin not Saiyin damn it!!

Yu-gi-oh...uh...well its better then the TV series....and they use the original names for the cast and ..uh..lets leave it at that.(is it just me or does Yugi look like a drug Junkie in the manga?)

Yu Yu Hakusho is great if you like fighing mangas(which i do!).

That's about it i would have perfered if they used the original japanese soundeffects and more non-mainstream mangas *cough*DBZ*fart*yugioh*cough* but oh well for what its worth its a pretty good Manga-zine. They even have previews of anime related games.
Has anyone checked out Raijin magazine? i really wanted to checkout City Hunter but the subscription is way too high for me...

I've checked out Raijin. It's fine, although the giant RAIJIN and FUJIN things seem a bit hyperactive to me. I bet there's no special difference between the Raijin and U.S. Jump magazines. It's just which comics you want to read.

A Shonen Jump subscription is $20 well spent.

It's worth it for One Piece and Yu Yu Hakusho, and even more so when Naruto and Shaman King start.

It REALLY needs a faster release schedule. Raijin's weekly release is fantastic, but expensive.

Hmmmmmmmm

I was really disappointed to find out that Naruto wasn't in the first issue. I hadn't read anywhere about it not being in there. Also wondered if about the card given away, I read that the subscribers version was going to be a special card, but it looked like the regular card.

Was curious if maybe the demand for the first issue was greater than expected. I know a lot of comic book stores did not get the first issue yet, but I found the book at my local Blockbusters & a few bookstores.

I'm glad I did subscribe.

yeah, I was pretty disappointed that they ALL the advertised titles aren't actually in the first issue, but for $20 its still damned good. what's up with started DBZ at the trunks saga? meh, whatever, I subscribed for one piece anyway.

I hope they send a super rare yu-gi-oh card with EVERY issue... rock.
