Hm, I took the test but I still don't know what my score is? Pure? Corrupt? I took 2 college level statistics courses and the texts never mentioned those terms. (How about just a streight score with no 'pure' and 'corrupt'? ) The obvious answer would be that I'm 62.0% which means on their chart "Shameless otaku!" Sure I could figure out with confidence what's what, but I'm budgeting my brain power right now.
I got 79% otaku pure, 21% corrupt... and I don't know if that's supposed to be good or not. It says I'm the Dark Prince of Otaku... which I don't get. I haven't studied Japanese because of anime, I haven't named pets after anime characters, etc. I like anime a lot, I've watched a good bit of anime, I draw a lot of anime-styled stuff, I've got some manga.... but my room isn't anime from head to toe like what I would think that someone with the rating I got would have. Ehh, whatever. I probably would have given myself a 50%, at most.

You are "pure" of being an otaku if you aren't one. So if you are 75% otaku pure, you are 25% otaku.
Yah, another one of the tests basically says that the "corrupt" is your score. They should have used different words, and only given one score instead of 2.
So my score is actually "32-45%
Full-time otaku (past the point of no return)"
hmm I guess that sounds right from an American version of the word otaku.
Also yah, the test is a little old, but still can be fun.
"Have you ever been hit on by Mike Tatsugawa? " shutter! I don't know, maybe a girl wouldn't have minded that as late as 1997, but after that...bleh haha, but I kid, I kid, M.T. is a good guy for whatever he does that's good.
Fan"dubs"? They fall into three catagories: Good ones that fans can watch and enjoy; good ones that are too inside and only the people who made it can watch and enjoy; and other.
I've actually liked most of the fan-subs I'd seen before fansubs became mostly distributed by the internet.

So then, I'm:
22%-32% # Full-time otaku in training (not yet willing to leave one's life behind)
Just where I want to be.

I've recently cleared 90% of all the "idol" figures from view in my house. Part of the reason I've done this is to set an example. Someone I know is like a lost fan boy who obviously never read any articles (like I saw many of in the early ninties) about people who are so into character worship and so forth that they loose touch with reality and become corrupted.
I stuck them in a box and put it away. Still have a calendar and a couple of posters, and a Psyduck.

I just like the use of "corrupted." I just imagine some pale nerd in his basement surrounded by merchandice slowly strocking an Evalgelion figurine...
And yeah, I have a poster or two, a few Capcom and OMG figures and a Tamagotchi and I promised myself that I would keep it there.

Yarg or something. I dont know about this test tho, a little innacurate, by clicking in some of those answers (like male people dressing as sailor moon) should spawn a whole new category, like %100 degenerate or menace to society.
*cracks knuckles*
That's what I'm saying... I've got a couple of figures (like, about 5) and I watch anime. But somehow, I got rated as the Dark Prince of Otaku... I think, anyway. I've never been to a convention, I've never dressed up as a character, I only recognized, maybe one studio listed... Eh, whatever.
