The gameplay, which to me is the core part of any fun to play game (Why play it if you won't have fun) Everything else is just icing on the cake...

I said " other " , because I judge games on a combination of the other choices...

Same as Rugal here, but I'd add the details. I like to find details wherever they are (graphics, character designs, interaction... ). Even if they are gamewise useless, they prove that the developers really worked and put much effort in the game.

Gameplay and characters. I really don't care that much for graphics, and surely not at all for realism. Music could be a decisive factor too in a few cases (it's the only oint I REALLY like in the Guilty Gear games).

A good story and nice characters are definitely important in a game .

Plot and characters are my ultimate favorites. But I also love good graphics. I like good artwork and good music and game quality. It's why i like Square so much. ^_^ Good characters, good art, good graphics, good music. And they're LONG games usually.. I love that. Short games bother me. I love games that just go on and on. ^_^ Kinda like I do.

I like being able to micromanage stuff. Other than that if the game is fun I'm pretty much there as long as it's not super short.

Hmmm... the genre has a great influence on me... if it's an RPG, it's nearly sure I'm going to like the game (unless the game is horrid), and if it's a sports game, it's pretty possible that I'm not going to like it (unless the game is great).
That is, genre influences me, but also does gameplay (greately), story and characters(depending on the genre, it's the most important aspect, or the less one), etc, etc...

I have in account all the aspects of the game, but I've voted the genre because that may make me try the game or not. Once I've tried a game, the genre becomes the less important thing, as long as I like/dislike it. But it is a determining factor, because if I don't try the game, I won't be able to appreciate most of it's aspects.
