it sure did affect mine. I went again to the campus arcade to play third strike. so i see this guy thats beating everyone with ease, i was wondering......was he really that good? so i tried him out. he sucked bad, he kept falling for the dumbest shit. i beat him the first round with ease. come the second round i started to notice a smell.......it was the guy i was playing, my god! my guess this guy wasnt fond of showers or something, cause i swear i almost fainted from the smell! so i totally gave up just so i could get the hell out of there! then i guess when he beat me the last 2 rounds he thought he was really good........but serioulsly, the smell was very unbearable, i wish this upon no one. DAMN STINKO!! next time i'll wear a gas mask!

This is interesting. While this is an " extreme " case, I wonder if it's true in lesser cases, as well? Perhaps people play better in a familiar environment?

Hell yes. It's like wrestlers who use foreign objects in a match. That shit's just downright unfair.

Interesting story. I'm glad that it hasn't happened to me before :)
Anyway, to answer your question, yes, smell does affect my gameplay. Where I play, for some reason arcade and smoking go hand in hand.
Since I can't really stand the smell of cigs, it really affects my gameplay <_<

I've actually had the same thing happen to me before where people smell so bad that you don't even really want to play against them anymore.

On a slightly similiar, but non-smelly topic, my cousin was once playing SFEX2 and was beating the bageezus out of this one guy and his friend for a good hour or two. I swear, those guys must've plunked down a good $20 in change. Anyhow, after each loss, they would vehemently curse and become violent, hitting everything in sight. My cousin eventually got fed up with it and just walked away from them, those who banged the machine.

LOL!!!! there's a dude that calls himself "the African War God" and he wastes $20-30 a day playing third strike!! i swear, no matter how many times this guy loses, he always has money ready to challenge again! don't anger the War God! he'll take you down sooner or later (on his twentieth 50 cents if he has to!)

lol I've lit up a black & mild while a was playing and started puffing smoke during thrid strike, kid was pissed, some little akuma player, i kicked his ass though(second round atleast :^S)

Ha, one time I played against this guy who was beating everybody and I soundly kicked his ass and he left. Then somebody next to me was like "thank god he left, I was about to be sick". I didn't even know that the guy had a lousy stench because I had a cold! LOL
