Yeah, myself, I lucked out. Someone sold his/her Broadband Adapter to a local Software Etc., and Software Etc. has to list it -- no kidding -- for US$20. You can imagine I snapped it up really quick as soon as I saw it...

The word is that Sega's abandoning the servers come the year's end, so online multiplayer by Sega will be gone. (A shame, too... those few times that I could connect to the Bomberman On-line servers, I really enjoyed playing with other people.)
However, it doesn't stop the Dreamcast from being used as a 'net terminal. So, you can still connect to your ISP by inputting its info on the Dreamcast -- and resultedly, you can still upload and download add-ons and keys to your Dreamcast games from sites like Booyaka. That, and if you using LinuxDC (page updated just today after a long period of inactivity!) or NetBSD/dreamcast, you'll most definitely still be able to use your BBA with that -- Sega's cancellation of its multiplayer servers has nothing to do with it. ^_^
[And... if hackers can create homebrew servers for Dreamcast on-line multiplayer games, then it may not be the end of DC online multiplayer games yet. ^_^ One such programmer has so far gotten a lobby for Phantasy Star On-line to work, although it's not public yet.]

An unofficial lobby for DC PSO!? Wow! Too bad the game gets broken because of hackers and stuff. If Sega were really cool, they should give folks the tools to set up their own DC PSO servers. The game is dying but still, people play old games all the time. I usually play NES Zelda once a year!
