hehe, i don't normally do these posts but i'm pretty much stalling as much as i can so i don't have to study ten grueling chapters of my accounting book T_T
well, as long as i'm spamming, i might as well mention a few other things that have been on my mind lately

Capcom vs SNK 2 Oddities
as sick as i am of this game, i decided to give it a whirl the other day, as i haven't played a fighting game in ages. anyways, screwing around with Sakura, i figured out that i couldn't combo a crouching HP into her qcb + kick without it turning into a super move o_O very odd. same goes with her crouching MK to qcb + kick. has anyone read any articles about this? funny that it took me this long to discover it ^-^; another oddity that came to mind a long time ago was when i was trying out Kyo. when i tried to combo his crouching HP into a qcf + MP, his fierce one came out. it also goes with his crouchin MP into qcf + HP. go fig

during certain moves in CvS2 (falling, etc), i've seen something under Geese's hakama. does anyone know what that is? it's some sort of pants or something but i was wondering if anyone knew if it had a specific name. i checked a few sites, including http://www.e-bogu.com/ and couldn't find any info yet

anyone here played Harvest Moon? hehehe
i dunno about you guys, but this game is extremely fun to me. the whole plant concept has driven me insane (i took a scythe and destroyed all my crops hehehe. i'm so sick of watering those damn plants), but i like caring for animals and hanging out with the townsfolk. oh, and if anyone has any recipes they're willing to share, please do T_T i keep wasting food and creating toxic waste. i'm thinking of gathering all that waste and giving it to the plant guy. he creeps me out

i guess that's it. i had a couple of other things i wanted to say but they've all slipped my mind. guess i'll go back to trying to figure out the words of Gabriela Robin's songs

oh ya, one more thing! compare my avatar to Grynn's. hehe, mindblowing

Nonononononono... You guys are wrong. Terry's monkey didn't dissapeared, it was always here, it's only that now is grown up, it's name: Rock Howard.

(So, he can do Raging Storms, of course)

This is perfectly normal. It's a capcom technique called "Negative edge". See capcom implimented this thing to make doing super combos easier for some people. Here's how it works.

Normally when you do a move... you do the motion sequence plus the button right? Well see you don't actually have to press the button... you can also let go of a button your holding down.

So lemme give you an example you can do. Get kyo.. and hit HP and hold HP. Now he'll do his HP and just stand there like usual. Now do a qcf then let go of the HP where you normally would hit HP. Walla the move will come out.

Now this has good effects and bad ones. Good ones seeing you can do combos easier... especially with lighter attacks.... the bad thing is sometimes you get a move you didn't want.

Here's a very good case where you get a move you do not want.

Rock's main bread and butter combos is c.lk, c.mk, qcb+hp. So it's a crouching light kick linked into his crounching medium kick buffered into his heavy hard edge.

Now so you go to do that c.mk then do the qcb+hp... ,more than often your rage run will come out instead of your hard edge which IS BAD.. I can't think of a worse move that would come out. Now why does this happen? Well when you do the qcb... you're also most likely letting go of the mk at the same time...... which the game interprets as a move... and out comes your rage run instead of hard edge.

The only way to combat this is to hold down the offending button until you've pressed the HP.

So to do the combo correctly you must do.

c.lk, c.mk (hold medium kick), qcb+HP (let go of medium kick).

like wise if you want to do your Kyo combo you're going to have to hold down your heavy punch until you did your qcf+mp

Well there's no real capcom thing I can think of that's doing this other than it's registering your ducking motion as a qcb. This can easily happen... if you're used to SNK fighters there qcf's are a lot more strict than Capcom fighters.... or least in CvS2 I've noticed. So when your ducking you must be moving it slightly to register an initial qcb, then when you do the move it's the second qcb... then boom out comes the super..

No biggie though... it's still a combo right? Well unless it was blocked... OH NO

Hope this explains something

and also how could you get sick of such a solid game? Sagat and a few others and roll cancelling aside it's a very nice game.

cool!! thanks for this vital piece of information, model! that explains why a lot of theoretic combos come out with a bad ending. this really opens a new window on combos that i can try out

oh, and i'm sick of the game because last summer, we played it almost nonstop for two weeks. you know you're getting bored of a game when you choose a team of characters you almost never use just to see if you can pull it off

i'm starting to play it a lot more lately because i discovered Mai's potential in the game. i am really surprised i don't see more people playing with her after seeing what she's capable of. then again, i rarely see any Vice players so i guess the majority just stick with the simple characters or the top tiers

MAI!!!!!!!!!!

I use a R2 Mai, but sad to say I don't win much with her due to my incompetency at fighting games.

I've seen someone use a R3 Mai A-Groove and he can beat some great players using top tiers.
