thank you everyone for saying the picture looked nice (aside from it's more obvious problems)
just some random replies:
quote: Looks very nice. You could give the monster-thing a bit more of texture, but other than that it's great, keep posting drawings!
quote: The main character looks nice, but the beast is a bit too plain looking. It'd needs a bit more detail to make it stand out a bit and add character. Also the BG colour is a bit too bleah for the picture. The pale green just doesn't work for me. But other than that it's a nice looking cover...:)
the thing about the monster (it's a T-Rex or something) lacking detail is, for the cover Jessi (who in case the title didn't make clear is the ninja-cowgirl person) had to be the focal point.
Because of that the dinosaur had to have a little detail/color as possible so your eyes go straight to Jessi (who in theroy being that she's pretty much pointing up leads you into the text and logo)
the ugly green background (which in all fairness looks a little less ugly in the original) is also to pop out Jessi, as she's colored with mostly warm colors, the cool green adds contrast...
But of course, I'm not arguing with you guys the picture needs more detail and the background sucks... In the context of the assignment I feel it works, but if I had done this as fun picture for web-use only (and I kept my uncolored rough so I just might) I certainly would have give the dinosaur some kind of "scale" or "decaying zombie" like texture, and would replace the background with an old west town or desert or something fun...
quote: and hey, the girl looks familiar ...... ah, you dressed her up as Vice in another picture ehehe
yep that's her alright, her girlfriend who was dressed as Mature in the other picture (and is named Amalthea... 5 points to ever can tell me were that comes from!) got left out of this picture because the teacher felt she took up too much space, space that was need for my anti-PSM text.
