Not game related or anything. I'm planning a trip to London, I was wondering if you had any suggestions? ^_^

Is that big Sega building still there? It was like a 3 story arcade and pretty cool. i think it was called the Tropadium or somthing like that. I heard it went out of business, but if it's still there it's worth a visit.

I presume with GogoBeckham in your sig you're English, so hopefully you wont have to travel far!

Yeah, that's the one. I haven't been in about 3 years so I'm not sure if it's still around.

Well, I'd recommend asking at the forums over at www.ukresistance.co.uk , www.segalife.com or www.gamesasylum.com . All three are good British websites, may be able to point you in the right direction. You may have to contend with some British humour though :P

"COOL! LONDON'S THE BOMB!" , posted Fri 18 Oct 17:40post reply

Congratulations Daala! I'm so happy for you! You're gonna have loads of fun.

When I first got into the city,it was scary. Seeing as how I came out of Victoria Station to find double deckers and the Underground.

SegaWorld has been totally renovated. It's now called Funland. It's got 6 floors worth of games. Mostly sports games, with air hockey, bowling alley, rides, and the cool Pepsi Max Drop(which I didn't get to ride when I was there). You can find the first of London's arcades in Picadilly Circus.

Next arcade is Casino. That's located near Goodge St. station next to the Museum of Scientology(I think that was the name). Now this was my favorite! It had the following games when I went to play:

SSF2
SFA3
KOF 98,2k,2k1(whoa!)
Martial Masters
Import GGX
Tekken 4

You can find the other,Namco Station, inside the County Hall building, next to the London Eye(which cost 10.50,a REALLY COOL EXPERIENCE! Go early in the morning to get the best seat in the capsule). Huge arcade, but not many Capcom games like the others.

There is tons of favorite spots to visit
in London when I was there. Picadilly Circus was my favorite place,it's a shoppers paradise.

I'll write more info later.

Hmmmm.........let me see.

I think I started off my 2nd day in London at Picadilly Circus. But I already told you about that. This mega place leads to even cooler parts of Central London. They lead to Chinatown(cool place),Soho(supposed slut place, didn't see none, though). And tons more.I suggest China Town. Although my stomach wasn't accustomed to the food.

If you go near Oxford Circus. Check out Carnaby Street. Formerly a swinging place from the 60's. And very Austin Powers friendly. It's a tourist trap now.

Leicester Square was OK. Lots of theatres.

Covent Garden was a cool place. Lots of street performers from all over the world come here to show off. My favorite store there was Peter Rabbit & Friends. Lots of cool cartoon stuff there.

DEFINTLEY STOP BY THE TOWER OF LONDON! A very cool fortress that's been around for about a thousand years. Used to known as a place of execution. It looks so cool today. There's the moat that still surrounds it,but it's been dry for about 130 years now. The Beefeaters were really nice to me. I saw the famous ravens that the Tower was famous for. And I saw the Crown Jewels,prisons,e.t.c. Very scary place. But it was raining when I went,so the place was beautiful. You can see Tower Bridge from one of the terraces. Awesome view of it,too. I also walked across Tower Bridge. Twice. Long walk for me.

Madame Tussaud's is defintley worth a visit. Celebrities cast in wax(THEY HAD DAVID BECKHAM! Got my picture with him). It was so cool. It was like actually meeting the celebrities. It was an expensive admission price, though(I think 25.00 pounds or something,to lazy to search for the ticket). Have a camera at hand! Sherlock Holmes Museum is around this area, too(couldn't find it ),and if you walk down Marlybone, you can see London's Academy of Music and the place where I stayed,International Student Hostel(right next to the Gt.Portland St. tube station)

If you stop by Westminster, you'll get an upclose view of the mighty Big Ben,as well as the beautiful Westminster Abbey(which was not expensive to see). It's a beautiful church where actual monarchs are buried.

Once you cross the Bridge. You'll see the London Eye. I loved riding that. Got spectacular views from all over London! And you can see the awesome River Thames.

Of course,I went to Buckhingham Palace and saw the Changing of the Guard. It was raining as usual,so everyone had their umbrellas. I walked down The Mall, which is a big long road that leads to the Palace. Lots of Union Jack flags there. St.James Park,a beautiful park, adorned both sides.

TIP: DEFINITLEY USE THE TUBE! IT'S EASIER TO GET AROUND. I USED DOUBLE DECKER BUS FOR TRAVEL,TOO. WHEN I FELT LIKE TAKING IN ALL THE SIGHTS. GET A SIGHTSEEING BUS AS WELL,TOO. YOU CAN HOP ON,HOP OFF AT THE MAJOR SPOTS.

I'll write more later. :smile;

Yes!! I hate historical tours and that one was great. The beefeaters are really cool and make it interesting. I was a little bummed that they clipped the wings of the ravens so as not to let them fly away and result in the unfortunate collapse of the tower.

Plus you get to see where Issac Newton lived. Score!

Cool! That's how long I stayed! ^_^

I suggest Planet Hollywood,in Picadilly Circus. I loved the atmosphere, they had movie memorbilia surrounding you(and a HUGE STATUE of Buzz Lightyear hanging from the ceiling). Try their Chicken Burger. Simple yet good. And they give good portions.

Eat at the Tower of London's restaurant. It's a buffet. They have everything British, they even had scones, which are like biscuits. Which I was curious to try. They're good with jam,and they're sweet.

Yo Sushi is another cool restaurant. I forgot the location, but I think it's further along Baker Street. It's like space age, they serve the food on CONVEYOR BELTS! I didn't get a chance to eat there, but I observed through the windows. You'll love it.(still regrets not eating there)

I also ate fast food, too. It's just like America.

I didn't eat at too much places in London, because I was too busy sightseeing.

There you go,hope that little bit helps.
Feel free to ask more questions Daala!

Ah,Madame Tussaud's ! I've never been in London, but relatives showed me some pictures of it . The wax statues seem incredibly real !! Also, not only David Beckham is in it,but also his pretty wife (and talented singer) Victoria Beckham . Maybe soon they will make wax statues of their children ?

Yep! They're pretty lifelike all right. And you get to touch them!

Heh,and they actually base them off their height and everything. When I stood next to Beckham,he was taller than I was. About maybe a few inches.

Maybe Just A Person, but their children will have to do something famous first.

They probably will . At least the papparazzi already consider them "celebrities" (both Brooklyn and Romeo are constantly photographed by tabloids) . The Beckham family is actually very popular in England (compared even to The Osbournes and the Royal Family) . Good or bad thing ? Who knows ?
