I've always wante to start a thread like this, but never got to it, I'm not one to really post much, I'm here every day of the week, but I just find that I never manage to say anything intelligent, so I try to refrain from saying anything at all, lol anyways, about the thread, I just wanted to see who some of your guy's fav artists would be, like, just your top 3 fav artists, and maybe why, and if they got a site, list that too.
could learn a thing or two about some of the people here also ! ^^
anyways, any replies are much appreciated thanks

Hmm...well...
3)Akiman: I THINK this is...the guy who does all the SF Alpha art. His designs are simple, yet catchy, detailed and very striking. He made capcom characters more established, beyond their basic icon status. I'm sure he's done more, and he's kept a constant vibe with all his peices, vivid expression and...'accessable' to all
2)The SNK artist: You know, the oen who did the works for all teh KOFs up to 2000, and then some (what's his name...Shinki-something?) the realism is done VERY well (except for hair in some pieces, like Chang '99 and Zangeif for CvsS1) and the airbrushing breathes life into characters (even with stale poses, you just KNOW they can still kick ass)
1)Akira Toriyama: This guy is my hero; he created the standard for 'epic anime energy battles', made a totally inventive and original universe (as well as his style), seemed completely out there yet retains the charm that only sight gags and toilet humour can offer. His mangas are also very enjoyable (esp. action, which he does really well!)

Complex, intriguing, but not for everybody. His art shines there anyway. His best since Generation Next in the AoA in my opinion.
I've been searching shops for the Steampunk TPB for awhile, but I had never even heard of the Witching Hour. Anyway, both of the Death books he worked on I've found very enjoyable, I think his art goes well with Neil Gaiman's writing.
Now I just need to find the Witching Hour.
... By the way, where did you find that picture of Angel? That's just about the cutest thing I have ever seen.

IMO the witching hour was bachalo's best work, the hardcover with all three issues is excellent. steampunk is his second best, but the story was real rushed in the last issue. my three favorites would be
1. Chris Bachalo 2. Kim Hyung-Tae 3. l0cke (http://damaged.anime.net)
l0cke is one of my favorite online artists, although he's done professional work for a few companies. I enjoy his excellent storytelling and really good art, and his site has a lot of his stuff, if you can find it in the wierd design.

Oh, and my favorite videogame related artists:
-Kinu Nishimura (CvS Capcom Side, Cannon Spike, Dungeon & Dragons, Gaia Master) -Senri Kita (SamSho 64, SamSho Warriors Rage, Capcom Fighting All Stars) -Hyung Tae Kim (Magna Carta, War of Genesis)
Speaking of Joe Madureira... anyone knows what he's doing now, now that his videogame company went to hell? Hopefully he'll at least finish Battle Chasers...

My favourite artists (taking the most general approach of the word):
- Michelangello (sp?) Buonarotti: The guy that has painted the Sixtina Chapel, sculpted the David and Moises and did a helluva lots of many great pieces of art.
- J.R.R. Tolkien: He created a world so perfectly described, that it looks that it's real. I like all his books, and I LOTR is my favourite book of all time.
- Shigeru Miyamoto: He's an artist of videogames. A mind that can create the Mario and Zelda universes, among others is a genius.
- Behetoven: I'll put it simple: When I hear his Moonlight sonata, I feel good. Add there the rest of his works, specially Simphonies #5 and #6, and...
I'll also add from the videogame-anime-manga illustrators world this ones:
- Akira Toriyama: His proportions are bad, he don't know how to draw women, he is lazy as hell, but... He draws the action better than nobody. I can see the movement in his drawings, better than in the anime. He also invented Dr. Slump and Dragon Ball (exclude GT here, please), and his humour is great. Ah! His videogames designs kicks ass, too!!
- Nobuhiro Watsuki: He is the author of Rurouni Kenshin, and has a beautiful style, which improoves every tome. And I like RK, what's enough to include him here.
- Gosho Aoyama: He doesn't make here because of the beautifulnes of his drawings, but because of his incredible imagination creating plots and ways to kill people ^_^U. He also is the second best action representer behind Toriyama. Just look Ran kick somebody or Conan kick a soccerball. You can see it moving.
- Ken Akamatsu: He's here for creating Naru, and for making me laugh everytime I read Love Hina. Great overall, he draws women very good.
 Gatotsu Zeroshiki!
