Let's see -- there's always the "Parental Advisoly Warning" on some SNK games.
And, there's a bit of a difference between the English and Spanish scripts of the Ikari Team ending in KOF'99 that I found rather odd (and I'll put a spoiler tag here just in case any readers haven't played through KOF '99 -- yeah, I know most of you have...):
Spoiler (Highlight to view) - After Whip explains that she made her peace with Krizalid after not being able to save him, the English script has Heidern say, "Sorry to hear that." whereas the Spanish script has Heidern say «¡Que lastima! ¿Eh?» or, "That's a shame, eh?" Probably not the best thing to say to someone after (s)he's lost someone close... O_O;
End of Spoiler
Only thing is, I don't know which is the more accurate translation. Heh -- one of the reasons I like playing through with a different-language script... ^_^ [Has anyone here tried the Portuguese script?]
Now, a side note about the following...quote: 2) "Jeidern"- bad spellng of Heidern's name on SNK's old website, and in KoF english manual booklet.
...I'm wondering -- given that the 'J' in Spanish is pronounced like the 'H' in English, and given that most Neo-Geo carts are multi-lingual... might that have anything to do with the misspelling? (There's also that 'H' is also right next to 'J' on the keyboard...)
But, probably my favorite bad translation:
There's also a moment of the English translation in Tecmo's Monster Rancher 2. Most of the text is actually pretty well-translated, but there's one section where Colt, the girl who's your guide in the game, shows you a tree that begins to grow on the ranch and proceeds to comment, "I wonder it buds the flower?"
