I really want the Madman's view on all the recent news. SO MUCH NEWS!

1.) To start with something related to SF, CvS2EO to be possible pack-in title with the X-Box live modem in Japan? Could this actually give MS a credible share of the Japanese console market? Or is CvS2 just not popular enough to be a system seller, especially when CvS2 is already online on PS2, plus complete with roll-cancels for REAL practice (lol)

2.) Microsoft BUYING RARE, plus the rights to Banjo-Kazooie, Conker, and PERFECT DARK? The new Dark game, on a different system??? UNHEARD OF! Plus if they actually made a new killer instinct, complete with Orchid's bouncy tits and lewdality? Will Nintendo end console production (handheld notwithstanding) if the Cube tanks?

3.) The new Starcraft game being a third person sneak-em-up. I personally think it looks sick, and can't wait to call down a siege tank strike in the middle of a zerg base! Huge sunken colonies? How gory will this game be (Starcraft was quite gory, considering...Zerg especially)? Any word on this? And, best of all, rumblings of taking part in a huge StarCraft sized massive assault? Will the equivalent to a good StarShip troopers-esque game finally exist?

4.) All the news on Capcom Fighting All-Stars. Fatalities? Dodge button? Sidestepping? EX4, PJ2, or whole new franchise? I bet that Alex and Adon are sick in 3D though. Just bring in Captain Commando as a hidden guy for gods sakes! Make his specials do stuff like Dhalsims limbs, stretching across or diagonal up. Sigh, Capcom...

And any other news! If you don't feel like re-doing the front page, give us some answers here!!! :)

Well,as I said once,I hope the new Capcom game will have lots of features and characters,otherwise I can't really consider it an all-star game. I'm glad Adon and Alex made it in.

It looks kind of bland at the moment.

Just because Nintendo sold Rare doesn't mean they're going to tank...

Contrary to popular beliefe the N64 was not some giantic lose to Nintendo, nor was Rare their only "saving grace" during that time period.

While the N64 didn't do Playstation numbers as far as selling goes, it did well enough, certainly better then Sega, and well enough Nintendo didn't loose money.

From what I remember reading Rare only accounted for 9.5% of Nintendo's income even when they were at the peak of their game, and Nintendo opted to sell because recently they've been doing 1.5% or less.

You also need to remember the N64 came out in the middle of "Poke-mania"... and while your average Joe Every-game-I-want-is-one-the-PSX might have thought only Goldeneye was worth buying on the N64, parents and young children saw the wealth of 'kiddie-games' and Pokemon-tie-ins found only on Nintendo's system a worthy purchase.

The game's still early, so Rose and Adon may make it in. There are two empty slots in the select screen.

Maybe they were spotted in the marquee or some press material.

I agree. I also feel that Pokemon sales in general, along with a dominance in the portable market has kept Nintendo more than alive in recent times. Even with Gamecube trailing PS2 by a longshot while scrapping for 2nd place with XBox, blockbuster success with GC was never required. They just wanted some sort of answer to the next gen consoles. The successes of Nintendo's other revenues allows them to take a chance on the Gamecube (as they did with the N64).

GC does add a bit more income to the company... and it's not hurting Nintendo financially at all, I'm sure. And it looks like Silicon Knights could be the next Rare, with Eternal Darkness enjoying rave reviews and good sales.

Not too many people recognized them back when they made Legacy of Kain for PS, but I would look for them to become more high profile with Nintendo in the future.

When Adon does a Jaguar Tooth in the 2D games, the camera doesn't pan out and he can jump off the "imaginary wall". But since the camera pans out as he jumps backwards, he'll never reach the wall. So how would he do the Jaguar Tooth?

It would probably be programmed into the game to not scroll...

so when you input the command it says "hey! you're not suppoosed to scroll right now even though I'm moving backwards!" and the game says back "right-o, daddy-o!"

pretty much like in the 2D games I guess... and I'm sure the game would calculate the location of the "wall" so he would bounce of nothing if someone side stepped changed what the "wall" was

They jump off the inner side of your TV screen. It's pretty cool how they jump off of that plastic. Of course sometimes it's wood or metal or whatever.
