I don't know about you, but for a Dream Match, I think that the essential characters like King should be there. They bother bringing back dead characters but they scratch out one of my best fighter, that's just plain wrong.
Don't suppose it would be to late to bomb the producers with e-mails from many KoF fans about that?
Yeah,taking off King wasn't definitely the best thing they could do . I guess it happened because King changes her outfit every two years (have you noticed it ?),and this year she should get a new outfit . I think that Eolith wouldn't want to redraw her (as for Athena,they NEEDED to give her a new look,since her '2001 one was hated by most of the KoF fans),so they just cut her off (as for Mai and Yuri,they are SNK's sex-symbols,while Mei-Li is Eolith's triumph) .
But don't worry,she will probably be back in '2003 (when Eolith sees that people WANT her back) . Also,she's in one of the backgrounds (maybe taking some deserved vacations) .

Ok, keep in mind this is just my idea. but if it were me, i would of done this to keep king and mai lee in 2002 :
first off, get rid of choi and chang, havent they served they're sentence yet? replace them with 2 serious fighters,mai lee and jhun hoon. then the vacancy in the womens team would be filled by king. i know alot of people like choi and chang ( i dont of any ), but seriously, would kim really want them as partners, or mai lee and jhun hoon? just my thoughts.

Gawd! Why does everyone blame May Lee for King's exclusion... Yuri is the one who bumped King from the women's team, the only characters May Lee is blocking are Kasumi, Li Xiangfei, and Hinako...
on aside note, I'd rather have Kim, Chang, and Choi be Korea team then ever see a team made up of Kim, Jhun, and May Lee

I think they should have gotten rid of Takuma, or Robert, or Ryo, or maybe the 3 of them. I really don't see why they keep appearing in all that games, they are so... unoriginal.
my dreammatch would have had 3 girls team : Mai team, King Team and Yuri Team! let's say the youngest girls with Yuri (May Lee and Xian Fei), the japanese girls with Mai (Kasumi and Hinako) and the mature girls with King (Chizuru and Foxy, for example?)
Now THAT would have been variety.

i think they should just kill off the Garou and Kyokugen teams. i love them both to death, a lot more than most of the kof teams out there now, but they don't serve much to the main storyline and they keep coming up in each kof as losers. i mean, how the hell? they were undefeated champions in their own games and now they come here and suddenly lose? whatever. kill them off, save them the shame
EDIT:
by "kill off," i mean take them out of the game. anyways, with them gone, you'll have more space to fit in other features, like more moves per character (people are always complaining about moves being taken out), or more music, more stages, even more characters that people are longing for

I think that's the worst part of it : the game seems to be great, with the best backgrounds in years, a (maybe) interesting system more balanced than the striker crap, NO STRIKERS... and we (well, at least I, since I seem to be the only Chizuru lover here, along with my King lover minions) won't be able to test our favorite characters with it....
I wouldn't have bitched that much about Chizuru, King and everyone else's disapearance if the game had been as crappy as KOF 2001, for instance.

No kidding! If I had 100 bucks for every complaint about King's absence, I'd be the richest bastard on the planet!
Had it been one of the other AOF characters no one would have lost any sleep. But removing King was such a crime!
As for being shocking, not really. I knew one of the AOF characters would have been bumped (Always happened in the past.), but I'm amazed if was the queen of tick damage for a change.
Still have way too many FF characters though (When was the last KOF game where the FF & AOF roster consisted of an even number of characters anyway? KOF 95?!) and they add more (So typical.).
Personally, I'm looking forward to a year without the Double Strike abuse. Among other things.

No, I would've been just as upset if Ryo, Robert, or Yuri were missing (not Takuma, because he has been missing from KoFs before). I'd also be upset if other characters who'd never been left out were left out. I don't blame May Lee though, and I'll miss Bao. Stop the hate!

yeah, i think they should do this, keep them in their own games, fatal fury and art of fighting. they dont serve much purpose to the storyline in KOF anyways. the way i see it they are just make "guest apperances" in KOF. because i dont really see how these teams would actually lose in one of those tournaments.
