Well, today I went to the arcades (and as a fun fact, two arcade locals dissapeared! damn... oh well, those were crappy ones with maybe 20 fighters or so...), and I played Rage of the Dragons (Metal Slug 4 was in there too, but didn't pay attention to it).
Well, when I arrived, some guy was playing against Abobo (or Abubo as he's called in the game) and the first thing I noted, is that Abubo plays like a mixture of Potemkin and Hulk.
I played with more than a half of the cast, starting with Oni and Sonia. The gameplay is very good, the characters move smoothly and the controls are very responsive. As in other SNK games, you have 4 buttons to attack, A, B, C and D. And you can roll in 3 different ways, backwards, neutral and forward. Pressing other 2 buttons, make you change partner in the middle of the battle. And another combination of 2 buttons make your character use a heavy attack (Kinda like the CD attacks on KoF), but if your attack lands, your opponent will fall and stay in the air in front of you, then you have the option of following it with a combo; Above your power bar, some letters will appear (Like AABBDCA) and you have to press the correspondent buttons in that order to do a combo, then you can finish it with a super (or two). The stages are quite nice, they are not the best, but they're not the worst stages ever. Each stage has a limit in the form of benchs, signal posts, waste baskets, and stuff like that, when you perform one of the aforementioned combos, the opponent will fall to one of the edges, and if there's an object in there, he will fall in and bounce (While the object breaks, leaving more field opened for the fight), and in that moment you can land another attack if you want (Maybe a super, I'm not sure). You have a partner bar, and if it says OK, you can switch your characters (Couldn't figure how to perform team attacks); and there's a nice option in the game: you can surrender! If you're about to lose with a char, you can press (I'm not very sure of this) ABCD at the same time, and your char will surrender, giving to his/her partner his/her energy and a bit more (I wonder if you can surrender when you have only 1 char left...) The bad thing about the game, is that it's very fun to play on single mode, but in Vs mode is not... Some scrub challenged me, using Pepe and Billy, and all he did was to do those ABCDABCD combos on me! I was cornered, and couldn't escape, while he repeated the same combo over and over, and finishing me with supers when he had his power bar full (but maybe just because I'm new to the game I couldn't counter his attacks properly). The music is excellent, I liked it a lot, and the character design is good as well (I loved to play as Mr. Jones and his Kung Fu-nky, ha ha).
In short, the game is very enjojable, but frustrating when you're playing against a scrub. Anyway, give it a try, I'm pretty sure you will like it and I'm pretty sure you will agree with me: For Evoga's first try at a fighter, this is an EXCELLENT first try! Let's support them, so the sequels or next series are even better.
And sorry if this has been posted before.

Oh yeah! At last someone agrees this is a good game... been spending a lot of my "arcade time" on ROTD. Erm... Hey ONSLAUGHT, I did warn about the Billy's infinity combo in some other thread. Oh yeah, watch out for Kang and Abubo users too. Just a warning. I could give you a few pointers on what moves connects after certain combos. Example: First Impact, DM... just leave a note!
