Nona is getting better. I like the new technique he uses combining the skin tones and the sorta cel shaded coloring on the clothing.

looks much better then kof2k1. Though yamazaki is very strange looking as is iori. Mai looks like she had a bit to much to drink and she is ready for some fucking.

kim looks ok as do some others though so thats a big change from all the pics last year looking pretty garbage imo.

The in game pics of the characters on the sides of the power bars look good though. ANd the in game screen shots for the most part look much better then i expected.

It has got to be me whining again...

1. Is it just me, or Nona just couldn't draw KOF characters well? Granted, he(or was it she?) has an unique style of art, but I feel something quite wrong. Just look at the character selection screen...Looks quite bad as KOF2001...But I will give credit for some improvement overall.

2. URGH! The individual portaits kinda sucks...even worse than 2k1. There are great ones like Goro, Vanessa...The rest just couldn't display those fighters' spirit in them. Take a look at Takuma and Ryo!! (Now I AM REALLY SURE they are making the Kyoryugen team a joke team...RYO looks like he gained 10 pounds)...and why is Maxima having a flashing chest??? Oh my, that must be the most goofy Yamazaki I've ever seen...

This must be the worse KOF illustrations I've ever seen. The characters look either like clowns, or some cheap street punks. I am kinda disappointed here.

3. Screenshots. Simple colours, simple backgrounds, looks quite empty...TOO SIMPLE. I am surprised that not much has really changed...They looked like cut and paste...Stances and all look pretty much the same...Where is the evolution Eolith said???????? BAH! The avatars looks OK though.

Sum it up...DISAPPOINTMENT...I don't wanna jinx it, but it looks like KOF2K2 is ready to be a flop...We shall wait for the final element: Gameplay, to grace or shame it all.

Edit: Prof, u sure these screenshots weren't taken from some Mugen?? Just kidding...=Þ

I do have problems with 2 designs, Yashiro looks like a criminal, I tought he would have a more pretty boy/calm look. And Yamazaki looks like the joker, but its still good.

Is it just me or the sprites are a bit bigger?

If I know mistaken, Yashiro is desgned to look like a criminal (that's why I played him anyway).

In yes, putting the size of the characters with the whole screen they look bigger than '2001 0r other KoFs.... or is it just me...

I liked it overall, if you don't agree; I don't care.

The character art, for me, is a mixed bag. For every good shot there's something odd like Leona's giant mane of hair while Iori gets a catagory all his own. The background shots also leave me with conflicting feelings. While I like some of the shots [the idea of having the characters fighting in front of an audience of sheep amuses me for some reason] others seem sparse and rushed. Is that background shot of Mr. Big ripped directly from his intro in KoF96? Still, there's not a striker to be seen in any pic so it's automatically a KoF I want to play.

The characters them selves are definatly smaller sprites, they look about the same size as 96's in some shots.

I hate when beta testers say that some characters have not changed & when you finaly get the game or your local arcade gets it, you find those characters that are supposed to have little differences from the last game with quite alot of changes in the gameplay or animation department.

Makes you think are they really fans of the game, if not, why go to bete test it!

I like the stages that I've seen so far.

The artwork is a little goofy, but it can't be as bad as KoF '97's generic crap. I don't know how anyone in their right minds would let artwork that bad get into any videogame...

The game looks really cool. My only complaint of course is where the hell is King. Other than that it looks great.

How can I? Because it's my opinion. I didn't have major issues with KOF 2001; unlike 95% of the players out there. I enjoyed it. Again my opinion.

Thankfully its a lot less weird this time, but now there's black outlines on the clothes of many of them that don't look good at all.

Athena looks the best she ever has.

The in-game art is a HUGE improvement.

The interface looks a little too much like a pocket fighter to me. o_O

The stages look nice, if not a little too "open".

The sprites look a little smaller to me.

And best of all....Mai's Japanese and sexy again!! :D Her fan looks more like a paddle though. o_O

I really enjoyed kof2001 too.I really liked it..but the stages were dreadful..I think it was so clear that it had the worst stages of all kofs..anyway,I guess that's your opinion,right?;)Can I get some more opinions on this matter?(I'm too lazy to start a poll,besides it's not important enough for a poll..)

2001 is a pretty good game, but overall, it does have bad stages. I think that 2000's stages were worse, though ( and I like 2001's boss stages. )

Update: While I'm thinking about it, is anybody else wondering how Nona draws Rugal?

Igniz's stage was reminiscent of Geegus's stage in World Heroes (Which is one of my personal favorite stages in that game.)

I liked Korea, Japan, China, U.S.A., Venice, & Zero's stages as well.
