You know what you just did is really looked down upon in the mugen community. You didn't rip those sprites, you simply downloaded the character for mugen and extracted the sprites from the sff file.
I'd take those down before someone gets pissed... or rip your own from the psx version of CvsSNK pro.

It takes a lot of time and effort to rip sprites from a psx game, each frame has to be manually cleaned since there's no psx emulator with layer disabling. It's disrespectful to the creator when you call it YOUR rips. Plus this certain creator he took those from Gargoyle, is extremely touchy about people messing with his work... things like this has caused certain mugen creators to keep their characters private and not release them to the public.

Then they should keep them private if they don't want people to use them. That's what I would do. Some people either don't know, or don't have the time to rips sprites. (Like me) so if people are doing it and putting them out there for people to download to put in game or edit them however they want to, then they shouldn't complain when someone does.
EDIT: Plus Raven never said that they were his sprites. He said that he put them together using MCM, but he never said that they were his or that he ripped them.

So in your logic artists should never show their work to the public and game developers should never put their games on the market. It sucks when someone tries to express themselves and try to give a little something to the world... and people shit all over them.

No, I'm saying that if people that put things out, then they should expect people to do things to them that they don't want done. I'm sure Capcom doesn't want people to rip sprites from their games, but it's been done on countless occasions. SNK doesn't want their games emulated, but it happens anyway. Celebrities take pictures for magazines and they don't want people to make nude fakes of them, but it happens. I'm just saying that when they do these things they should expect people to do whatever they want with them once it's out there whether it be wrong or right.

Pretty much hit it on the head. Dosent matter how much the person who made the character in mugen cleans and buffs the sprite, its capcom's sprite period. And if someone comes along and takes teh sprite from someone who ripped it..... oh well. Only capcom gets to say who can and cannot use their sprites.

sigh... I was waiting for the old "those sprites belong to capcom" argument. I guess you just can't understand until you've made your own Mugen character. It's a lot of hard work and when someone else just comes along and in a couple minutes takes credit for what took you months... it hits a nerve. SNK and Capcom have already gone on record saying that they don't mind the sprites being used... as long as mugen is not sold. However the creators of their characters clearly say on their page and in the readme files "do not directly link my characters" and "do not use these sprites without my permissions". Anyway... they're not my characters.

Just wanted to say two things...
1. Where is that Evil Ryu move from? Never seen it. Or is it a sprite edit of Akuma's move with Evil Ryu's body.
2. It is uncool to use another person's ripped sprites okay. Some people rip sprites and don't care if others use them. Other people do care. Its all about hard work and other people stealing it. I think this argument is very analogous to the whole FAQ authorship argument. Some people steal FAQs and sprites- use other peoples hard work to further their fame. Other people just want to do something cool. Its all about your intentions and the intentions of the original FAQ maker/Sprite ripper.

You are correct, Gargoyle gave his Mugen version of Evil Ryu that move editted from Akuma. All these characters (with the exception of Terry who was made by Mouser) can be found here http://conversion.wo.to /

Oh, yeah, I've seen that. I remember you have to get a perfect win in CvS1 to see it, and even then it was rare. She does it a lot more in CvS2 and you don't need a perfect to see it.
