Single elimination, natch.
Amano vs. Dan - The classic matchup between the complete, irredeemible, FUBAR joke and the cheap knockoff of the complete, irredeemable FUBAR joke. However, while Amano actually can do some damage with that board, Dan is pretty much hopeless...Capcom wanted a hopeless clown, and by gum, that's exactly what Dan is. So Amano wipes the floor with him.
Shingo vs. Norimaro - Cripes, Norimaro was this one-game throwaway character (a vs. game, at that) who's not even a real fighter. Shingo wins; over-under is about 15 seconds.
Which leaves...
Shingo vs. Amano - A good matchup, but Shingo just has too many advantages to lose this one, not the least of which is speed. Plus, while the 19th-century Elvis imperonator may do okay against the likes of Shigen or Juzo, Shingo's rapid-fire all-angles attacking style is going to give him fits. It'll be close, but Shingo gets a narrow win.

besides, if the American Street Fighter cartoon has taught us anything the fact he's winning in the polls shows Dan has the chi of world behind him, and if that could let Ken beat an over-powered Akuma, it'll let Dan beat Shingo, Amano, and Norimaru

I remember the American SF cartoon.  I don't remember that episode,though. 
 Dan would wipe the floor with Shingo!

Lucky you... it was an episode they aired after SF Alpha characters got cycled into the series. (I believe this was also around the time Cammy went to work with Bison for some reason) anyway... in the episode Ken and Ryu went to see their master, who had been defeated by his evil brother! Ryu tired to fight his master's brother, Akuma, (who was over-powered to the max and does the Raging Demon like it was free) and is defeated, his 'chi' was stolen! Ken doesn't think he can defeat Akuma since Ryu lost to him, but Ryu believes in him, and Ken starts to glow! He is powered by the chi of the entire world! Giving him the confidense to stop Akuma's Raging Demon and defeat him! Ryu gets better and they go home...
Lame, but not as lame as the one were Rose decides to stop Bison she needs to have "the Fool" (Ken) and "the Beast" (Blanka) kill each other... or the one were Bison made 3 more "Blanka-ish" characters.

That is until a CvS fanfic Sakura runs up to him and begs him to not kill Shingo, because she loves him, and Dan does not, because he would want to make his number one student sad
