quote: A couple people get straight-up executed at various points, and that big guy tries to rape Aika...yeah, there is some adult material in the game. Oh well, I don't know why I would buy it anyway, if it is almost the same game as the one I have.
Oh yeah, I almost forgot that the guy tries to rape that girl. Yeah, well, y'know I still stand by what I said. If you can shoot up a bunch of people in one videogame a little mature rape suggestion won't hurt anybody, will it?
My brother has this game for the DC, I wonder if he'll sell it to me? I'm not much into RPG's, but not that I'm playing FFX I'm starting to get back into it.

Erm... I don't know much about Skies of Arcadia, but it's an RPG, right? I always thought that for RPGs, storyline overshadowed gameplay (to varying degrees, depending on RPG). So... who cares if the gameplay is the same if the storyline, which is more important, has been censored?
I could be wrong, though :P

No, you're totally right. That's why I'm so pissed. I missed this game because I had no DC, and I thought that the GC port would be the perfect opportunity to have and play the game, but with all that censorship, I'll probably ask a friend to lend me his DC and play the uncensored one. BLARGH.

Sadly, you're right. They will not censor the annoyingly slow running around, the too-frequent random encounters or laggy, dull battles with big attacks you can't skip.

With regards to executions, the vice-captain at the beginning of the game was thrown off the ship to his eventual demise. They also might tone down the slavery in the Green area.
You know all references to alcohol are going to be changed to coffee, which I find really offensive. It was the worst in Grandia with the "Kids your age shouldn't be drinking coffee" nonsense. It's not like anyone can't figure out what they're really drinking.
I really thought we were past this kind of ridiculous censorship. Here Sega has a game that appeals to both older and younger people, and they have to kiddy it up so that soccer moms don't complain to the Babbages clerk that Jonny's game has some potentially homosexual characters in it (which I forgot about until now; you know THAT's going to be toned down.)
I dont want to sound like a moron, but heard that the DC version was toned down from the japanese version. For example instead of drinking ioqua ( i think thats how its spelled) they drink liquor in the japanese DC version. One other thing is that gilden fires up a cigar in some of his victory poses not seen in the american DC version ( or does he? damn i dont remember, i need to play it again). So if in fact the GC will be censored, then would that mean that it will be censored even more from the american DC version? If in fact that is true, that would be too much censoring. Anyone that knows some facts please clear this up for me, i'm utterly confused.
