Yeah it's kind of old news by now... I've read the first 3 issues and there's a good story to back up the artwork. I like how they decided to try to start the series back up where it left off instead of trying to start over from the beginning.
80's series are really coming back big... G.I. Joe was the first comic to come back, then Transformers... and now a Thundercats comic is underway with art by Ed Mcguines (the really good Superman artist). Mattel is also reviving He-man with a new animated series and toy line... I saw a promo for the show and it didn't look half bad.

Man, this thread brings back wonderful memories...I missed the 80s cartoons, especially:
MASK...
and Bravestarr... ("Strength of a bear!" "Speed of a Puma!")
and Bionic Six...
and Denver the Last Dinosaur... (who could forget the cute theme song?)
and Ducktales...(I wanna have a vault like Scrooge McDuck to swim in)...
and many more...
OK, back to the topic...Transformers was one of the good cartoons as well, though I didn't see much of it, but I remembered it to be rather cool. Anyway it is great to see all the revivial of the 80s cartoons...those were the golden days of cartoons which cartoons nowadays can't compare to...

When they get off their ass and actually show a new episode, X-men Evolution (or the GenX-Men) is quite good.

I can't wait for the new Masters of the Universe series to start. I already bought the new He-man figure.

you know the only reason they're doing a new he-man, transformers, and airing GI joe again is to appease all us children of the 80's.
not that I'm complaining mind you.
evil will always triumph. because good is dumb.

I have the first two issues of the new Transformers and the First Issue of transformers Armada. It has some great art and I hope this encourages who ever made the toys in the 80's to bring them back. All I want are some decepticons like Starscream and Megatron and the Dinobots and I will be able to die happily.
The new GI Joe Comic looked interesting, but I have not picked it up. Hopefully DW will do what Marvel is doing with their Ultimate Line-up and release some of their newer Comics in TPB form.
But He-Man is excites me the most. I got the Battle Sound He-Man and Skeletor(both come with tapes of the old series). How many people here have seen the new figures? They are AMAZING Beast Man Looks badass and Man-At-Arms doesn't look as corny as he did in the old days. It seems Battle cats armor is unremovaable though I hated his from without the armor anyways.
If only we can get some new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!

What's TBP, Trade Paper Back? I mostly like my comics in collected form too.
P.S. Transformers Armada will be starting with a 90 minute movie Aug. 23 at 4 p.m and then continue on the block of shows labled Toonami on Cartoon Network in November.

yea Trade paperback. I got Ultimate Spider-Man Vol 1 for $15 or so dollars. The 6th issue fight with the Green Goblin was worth I think $20 at the time. It really saves the casual guy the hassle of going through Comic Book stores. I also got the hardback version of Origin which I thought was worth the $30 I payed.
Hopefully the armada cartoon is good. I think I saw some of the figures for them a while back and they look average when compared to Gen 1, but 100 times better than Beast Machines.
Those Ninja Turtles look a little weird. It seems they are based of the CG movie, but since it was canceled I wonder if they will still comeout.
Cartoon Network needs to get a 2 or 3 hour block on saturday afternoons and play just 80's cartoons. With the classics of transformers. GI joe He-Man AND She-Ra and whatever(Thundercats, TMNT, Silverhawks, etc). They can get an out of work 80's Icon to host it like david lee Roth or Aha(maybe not Roth =P). It would own Nick's crappy line-up for sure.

You know what old show I'd like to see on TV again. The Muppet Show. The newest Weezer video and The Muppet Movie being on TV the other day reminded me of how much I love the Muppets.

I saw that Weezer video earlier this morning. Don't they have some eps of that show on DVD? I might get it. Hopefully it might inspire Nick to play the show again or create a new one.
Damn why do shows suck now? Saturday Morning cartoons are almost all Anime(some good and bad) the only american made cartoons I can think of right now are X-Men evolution and Jackie Chan(is that even still on the air?) Kids today are deprived of good action, animation and storylines in their cartoons.
Now they try to teach sappy morals or some just lack morals all together. In remeber at the end of GI Joe Sgt. Slaughter taught you what you need. Which was basically along the lines of "DON'T GET IN A STRANGERS CAR OR I WILL KICK YOUR ASS!" or something like that,I forget.
