Superheroes + Roleplaying +multiplayer= heaven

too bad I hate how you have to pay monthly fees, 50 bucks and they expect another 10 out of you every month? Sony has billions in revenue and I'm sure their server bills for all the hits at Playstation.com alone are more then their costs to maintain Everquest, and browsing Playstation.com is free. Other then that, the thought of creating a supervillain and attempting world domination floats my boat ^_^

Damn I would love to play a game like this if I didn't have to pay monthly. The only way I would pay monthly is if the game had Howard The Duck, Punisher and the ability to create your own superhero/villian.

Beautiful.....simply beautiful.

I would love to play this game. I'd probably use someone like Daredevil or Mr. Fantastic.

I don't feel this could be a successful game..

so you have your cyclops, what, do you learn optic blast at lvl9? it's hard to imagine putting Marvel characters into MMORPG, besides, are u gonna be fighting some nameless grunts or famous villians like a quest?

You've been very bad. Now off to the gas chamber.

I think it would end up being more along the lines of Freedom Force, allowing you to create a hero as opposed to just using their actual personalities. Final Fantasy XI doesn't use Cloud, Cecil or Locke, but uses common Final Fantasy abilities and magic.

On another note, I'm wondering if anyone here has seen that new Marvel tabletop game. I'm kind of a wanna-be Marvel fan; I know a good deal of the stories behind the characters and such but have never bought an actual comic. I'm just wondering how they made a game off the license since it looks like a a combination of Spacehulk (of Warhammer infamy) and Magic (with the booster packs and whatnot.)

I believe you won't be able to use actual characters of Marvel fame, since it is a MMORPG (just like you can't use Luke, Leia, Han, and other heroes or even likenesses of their names in the upcoming Star Wars Galaxies, which I'll have to get). And I think the 10 dollar fee a month isn't that bad, since it does serve a purpose. I believe they need it for their game moderators and such.
