I'm so into 2k1 now! I love playing this game. And I've recently started to get into using Leona,and she's AWESOME!

Who do you guys like to use in your teams? Here's my list:

I'm glad you like 2k1! It's a great game!

My teams are pretty simple:

Robert (My team HAS to have Robert, this is the best incarnation of him in KOF, IMO. Try his new Shinryuken SDM type move. it's QCFx2 and C.) Robert owns! I love to do his line combo attack and catch them with the 13 hit kick combo thing that he has again! Robert is my favorite in this game if you can't tell already.

Kyo (I'm not sure if he has his auto-guard anymore)

Shingo (He's TOO good in this game!)

Terry (Normal Terry, nothing new that I know of)

Andy (same old andy)

Joe (I love his new Tiger Kick SDM!)

Takuma

K' (I like the little slide after his "Shaddup" kick)

Iori (I hate his SDM because it's so damn hard to pull off)

Yuri (just to do the Shin Yuri Satsu)

Those are the characters I use.

Igniz is pretty easy if you know what to do. Jump over him and he'll do some move that leaves him wide open for a combo or SDM or whatever. Just don't do any SDM that rush at him or he'll do his and it usually overides yours.

I'll have to try King sometimes if she's as good as you say she is.

Hmmmmmm Joe is quite the same as he was in 2000, except for his new Tiger Kick DM...But I feel that it is basically useless since it doesn't take much damage.

King is less kick-ass as she is in 99 or 2000. Somehow when I used her she doesn't have prioritity against characters like the NESTS team...I don't know, maybe I suck with her.

Terry has been weakened since 99...I am sure everyone noted that...

Try characters like Heidern, Kula and Ryo...Ryo has been given a much higher air priority this year.

My brother gave Heidern a try and was surprised when his moves changed. He's trying to get used to him again.

Won't use Kula.

Probably won't use Ryo, I'm not a big fan of his.

My team has categories of characters that have to have at least one of each present.

category one: team leaders (Kyo, Terry, Athena, Ryo, Foxy, etc)
category two: kids (Yuri, Kensou, Kula, etc)
category three: tough mofo close range fighters (Seth, Daimon, Ralph, Clark, Ramon, etc)
category four: big breasted women (Mai, Angel, Mary, etc)

So, a sample team would be Kyo/Daimon/Kensou/Angel, or Athena/Kula/Ralph/Mary.

There is not a single character I don't use.

But of course I do have favorites... Terry, K', K4'9, Choi, Ralf, Xiang Fei, Ramon, Iori... oh nevermind, I use them all equally.

I began using Andy more than usual this year.. I dig his outfit.. reminds me of FF1 when he had no design on the costume.

i really hate those akuma-style dms so i stopped using blue mary and king. i also just got bored of playing people like terry and beni seems real weak, kyo's weak, iori's boring, kim's hard as hell to use compared to 2k, chang's boring as shite, k9999 is about damn stupid to play and i hate those raging storm dms, man, i hate how so many characters play in this one.

i only like playing i jinju/maylee. but i throw clark and goro on the team for the hell of it. people i play are cheesy, so playing goro is fine and dandy.

I don't mind the sun sometimes

King doesn't have one, that's Blue Mary and Yuri. They're easy as heck to do anyways. ;)

Anywho, King's overall power isn't as good as she used to be, but oh man....her Illusion Dance DM and SDM totally RULES. If you're doing anything other than blocking, your ass is grass, and it will counter everything. Even Igniz super SDM of death! Its amazing how the move all of a sudden became godlike when it wasn't really all that useful in '99 and before.

Her Surprise Rose DM is useful, but only if you can pull off the input, which is hard to do.

Hopefully they'll fix her Trap Shot and re-add her antiair style Tornado Kick in 2002.

Of coz I am serious...Joe's Tiger Kick DM has to do upclose to get more hits and damage...very minimal damage if you do it from far. The most damaging DM is the counter move of Ryo's Tenchi Haoh Ken...shocking 1/2 bar damage...

Angel: she has an interesting and new gameplay, and she's hard to use (but I find that fun)

Vanessa: She's the best designed KOF character ever in my opinion.

Xiangfei: maybe she's not too powerful but the cuteness factor helps!

Yeah,I've only tried Robert once. But I found him pretty good. I'll have to start using him more.

Actually I prefer KOF2000 Robert. He was one of the underrated characters in KOF2000. His x 2 DM has so much priority.

I really didn't like Robert in KOF2000 because he was such a blatent Guile rip-off with that move. I liked him SO MUCH better in KOF'99 and the 25 hit SDM kick move. I don't know what it was called. Plus his fireball would go full screen. He was so much better than how he was in 2K. I'm glad Robert is how he is now, because with Ryo changed to a "kinda-shoto" there is room for one more and Robert is the top male shoto clone in KOF, IMO.

yeah i'd say, Vanessa and Robert are top tier, I also like angel too i've watched some nasty combos executed with her. and Hiedern is pretty damn bad to now especially being fireball motion pull some clean ish off with him

Capcom is a glorious and respectable company and rolento is the greatest charachter ever created also van damn played guile to a tee :)

Yeah, I love the game. Play it on Kawaks (Yes I'm the one responsible for SNK's bankrupcy). Not played it since my mate got off to Pakistan though. I used to piss him off by thrashing his rock-hard Ikari bastards with Hinako and three strikers.

they're streaming, so no direct links or saving. you can find them in the big vod list when you log in with the account shyeim provided.

WARNING the videos are really long as well. 6-10 minutes.

hey for the people thats streamin the vids..can ya ever finish it w/o ever stopping/lose reception??? whenever i try to view it, it starts losing reception until i am only able to hear the voices :( later on, it goes decent again, then starts to drop. i was wondering if its just me

depends on where u stream the video, if u are living in korea u wont have much trouble, however outside korea u have to have a good connection with the site.

2k is more for experts IMO 'cause the timing 'n the game is faster. Besides it's the best KOF realize (technically, otherwise the best of the best is the '98 for VS).
The only weakpoint is the striker are too easy to use.

That's why 2k is not for experts, 2k1 has a better gameplay then 2k does, however both are great.

The combo is harder for the beginners in 2k !
Even the beginners can do insane damage in 2k1 ...
The experts with the old can easily do amazing combos in 2k1 ! All people I know according with me that the 2k1 is a game for learn ...
IMO, the 2k1 is for CvS & Capcom fans who want to enter in KOF universe !

PS : Strikers are made for weak (even if I like too)

I can attest to that. Of course I've gone maybe 8 months since I last played the game, but that was such a turn-off. I wasn't ever good at doing combos and suddenly in 2K1 they all seem to come 'naturally,' even for characters I've never touched before.

to me, insane combos for kof2k1 are either..
1)striker combos (some are easy)
2)combos that include lots of a's and b's (like takuma, crossjump, b,b,b,b,b,a, for+a, sdm)

i was reading the tips of kof at ongamenet, and they mention that kof is a jumping game, mad-hopping and jumping is important.

nope, i done crossup D, 4xb, a, for+a, sdm with takuma. what amazes me is this video that showed takuma doing cross d, a,b,a,b,b,a, for+a, sdm..u gotta be true expert to have those skills

and its not uncommon to see a good maylee player doing 5 b b4 doing her "the end" sdm

Yay, nice to hear that some people are actually ENJOYING KOF2K1 instead of complaining about it :P

Anyways, my fav teams are probably K'/Kyo, Shingo, and Random, if I get a character i like in random like Mei-lee, then i switch K'/kyo with them.
Except Shingo, Shingo HAS to be on my team :D

Man, that's sweet. I've never seen it before. Plus, how do you get to fight Kyo or Iori in KOF2000? I know in '99 you have to get a certain amount of points after beating Krizalid. Is it like that in 2000?
